In the continuing confusion over 5G mobile phone networks, it appears that someone wants to make something Great!

From Politico:

President Donald Trump's reelection team is backing a controversial plan to give the government a role in managing America's next-generation 5G wireless networks — bucking the free market consensus view of his own administration and sparking wireless industry fears of nationalization.

The plan — embraced by Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale and adviser Newt Gingrich — would involve the government taking 5G airwaves and designing a system to allow for sharing them on a wholesale basis with wireless providers. The idea is also being pushed by a politically connected wireless company backed by venture capitalist Peter Thiel that could stand to benefit.

It's already getting pushback from industry, which dismisses the concept as untested and unworkable.

But the Trump campaign is now fully embracing the model in a bid to woo rural voters who have long lacked decent internet service because wireless companies don't have a financial incentive to offer affordable broadband to all Americans, including those outside the biggest cities.

“A 5G wholesale market would drive down costs and provide access to millions of Americans who are currently underserved,” Kayleigh McEnany, national press secretary for Trump’s 2020 campaign, told POLITICO. “This is in line with President Trump’s agenda to benefit all Americans, regardless of geography."

U.S. National 5G Network Plans Killed Off, Funds Promised for Rural Broadband 20 comments

Plans for the U.S. government to build a national 5G network secured against China appear to have been quashed following intense telecom industry lobbying:

The Trump Administration made a few announcements about building super-fast 5G wireless networks on Friday, but the real purpose of the White House event was buried beneath the headlines.

On the surface, President Trump and Federal Communications Commission chair Ajit Pai were promoting the schedule for a new spectrum auction and funds for extending faster Internet service to rural areas. But the auction, now slated to start on December 10, has been on tap for the "second half of 2019" since last year. And the funds for rural Internet connections, which don't have to use 5G technology or even wireless, were just an extension of a long-existing program.

Instead, the real agenda was to try and kill a well-funded lobbying effort to convince the federal government to take over 5G airwaves and build a nationalized network that private carriers would have to lease from the government. Supporters included prominent Republicans Newt Gingrich and Karl Rove, as well as Trump 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale.

But the idea has driven the U.S. telecommunications industry, which is spending tens of billions of dollars to build private 5G networks, bonkers.

Ajit Pai talked about "up to" gigabit connections for rural homes.

Including Iran, including the Saudi. And they had Bread Lines in Venezuela, the biggest Bread Lines you've seen in youre entire life. Sounds great, right? It's not great. Because they put an end to the Bread Lines. When they arrested the Bakers. They called them "flouwer hoarders" and they arrested them.

But don't worry. I put Elliot Abrams on that one. He said, send "aid." Something he did, very successfully, in El Salvador. In Guatemala (President Montt) -- many places. Nicaragua, he sent "aid" to Nicaragua even when Congress said, "oh, don't send arms, you can't arm them!" He didn't call it arms, he called it "aid." And it came from Iran. Who, in the 80s Iran was our closest friend in the Middle East. Because they did so much to make Ronnie Reagan our President. Well, they're not our friends anymore. And Venezuela isn't either. These are places where we're going to get the oil. Our economy is ABSOLUTELY ROARING. Like it hasn't roared in 90 years. So we need that oil. We need all forms of energy!!!

We love Dictators. But, only so long as they represent THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. But Sick Nick Maduro isn't doing that. He's doing Socialism, sometimes referred to as Communism. I put John Bolton on this one too. And he says there are 3 countries, he calls it the Troika of Tyranny. Troika, meaning the three. And tyranny, meaning they're not letting American companies in. Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba. We need to take them out. Not necessarily in that order. And put in some people that are much more BUSINESS FRIENDLY. Venezuela, obviously we want our oil companies in there, we're talking to Citgo and some of our oil companies about that one. Nicaragua, they're going to be bananas. We don't, unfortunately, have United Fruit Company anymore. But we'll be talking to Dole Food (fruit) Company. And Del Monte Foods. Cuba, that's the toughest one. They have a tremendous amount of sugar. But we don't want too much sugar comeing in -- Iowa. We have to protect our wonderful Iowa Corn Syrup Factories. And Farmers -- I never forget our Farmers. Bananas is easy, we have very few Banana Farmers. And everybody loves a banana, at least once in awhile. Right? But the sugar is a little bit complicated. Maybe the answer is, we sell our Iowa Corn Syrup to China -- big trade "deal" comeing with China. Maybe the answer is, we eat more sugar. Maybe the answer is, we talk to our so-called "allies." And tell them, start buying from Cuba, from our companies in Cuba. And that can be sugar, it can also be tourism. It used to be tourism too. Havana, that one was a WIDE OPEN CITY. Where you could find anything, do anything -- or have someone do it to you. It was America's playground when America was great. And hopefully we can make it happen again. It's comeing. In Venezuela and across the Western Hemisphere, Socialism is dieing. And liberty, prosperity, and democracy are being reborn. Especially prosperity!!!

Like I said, across the Western Hemisphere, Socialism is dieing. And Troika of Tyranny is the last 3 still doing it. Used to be a lot more -- Grenada and so many. But it's down to the 3. It's a lot like, you go to an orgy and you're having a great time. But almost everybody finishes, they go home. And it turns into a threesome, you and 2 other people. Who aren't necessarily the best. But, they're who's left. Troika of Tyranny is like that, but bad. Because it's Socialism.

Iran, fortunately they're not Socialist. And they're not in our Hemisphere. So they're not part of Troika of Tyranny. But they're part of, can we call it Orgy of Oppression? Because we have many problems with Iran. Which go back many years. To the days of President Obama. And his amazingly crooked Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. In short, the Obama-Clinton foreign policy unleashed ISIS, destabilized the Middle East, and put the nation of Iran -- which chants "Death to America" -- in a dominant position of regional power and, in fact, aspiring to be a dominant world power. Something we're also seeing with the E.U., with our foe the European Union. And also with China -- I'm working very hard on a Trade Deal with that one. Lot of foes in that Hemisphere.

Let’s look back at the Middle East at the very beginning of 2009, before the Obama-Clinton Administration took over.

                Libya was stable.

                Syria was under control.

Egypt was ruled by a secular President and an ally of the United States.

Iraq was experiencing a reduction in violence. The group that would become what we now call ISIS was close to being extinguished.

Iran was being choked off by economic sanctions.

Fast-forward to when Obama left the White House. What had the decisions of Obama-Clinton produced?

Libya was in ruins, our ambassador and three other brave Americans were dead, and ISIS had gained a new base of operations.

Syria was in the midst of a disastrous "civil" war. ISIS controlled large portions of territory. A refugee crisis threatened Europe and the United States.

In Egypt, terrorists had gained a foothold in the Sinai desert, near the Suez Canal, one of the most essential waterways in the world.

Iraq was in chaos, and ISIS was on the loose.

ISIS had spread across the Middle East, and into the West. In 2014, ISIS was operating in some 7 nations. By 2016 they were fully operational in 18 countries with aspiring branches in 6 more, for a total of 24 -- and possibly even more than that. A Congressional report revealed that the Administration had downplayed the growth of ISIS, with 40% of surveyed analysts saying they had experienced efforts to manipulate their findings.

At the same time, ISIS is trying to infiltrate refugee flows into Europe and the United States.

Iran, the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, is now flush with $150 billion in cash released by the United States -- plus another $400 million in ransom. Worst of all, the Nuclear deal puts Iran, the number one state sponsor of Radical Islamic Terrorism, on a path to nuclear weapons.

This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects, or different civilizations. This is a battle between good and evil. Islam is one of the world’s great faiths. Terrorists do not worship God, they worship death. Lot of death, lot of terrorism coming out of Iran. And it's time for our Muslims to face the crisis of Islamic extremism, the Islamists, and Islamic terror of all kinds. Muslim folks, if you're reading this, DRIVE THEM OUT of your places of worship. DRIVE THEM OUT of your communities. DRIVE THEM OUT of your holy land, and DRIVE THEM OUT OF THIS EARTH!!!
