Christchurch shootings at two mosques leave 49 dead, Australian arrested in relation to terror attack

At least one gunman with a semi-automatic weapon attacked worshippers gathering for Friday prayers in two locations: a mosque at Deans Avenue in central Christchurch and another mosque in the nearby suburb of Linwood.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison confirmed one of the people taken into custody was an Australian-born citizen.

The ABC has identified Grafton man Brenton Tarrant as the man visible in livestreamed footage of the attack.
...
Two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found on a nearby vehicle, but defence force officers disarmed one and are still working on disarming the second.

El Grauniad - Rightwing extremist wrote manifesto before livestreaming Christchurch shooting

The man who livestreamed himself attacking a Christchurch mosque and murdering at least 40 people identified himself online before the rampage as Australian citizen Brenton Tarrant.

On a now-deleted Twitter account, Tarrant posted multiple photos of what appear to be machine gun magazines and a link to what is being described as a manifesto for his actions.

The 74-page document starts off quoting a Dylan Thomas poem, Do not go gentle into that good night, and then moves onto a rant about white genocide.

Tarrant outlines his motivations: including to “create an atmosphere of fear” and to “incite violence” against Muslims while offering up autobiographical details.

New Zealand Mobile Carriers Block 8chan, 4chan, and LiveLeak

New Zealand Mobile Carriers Block 8chan, 4chan, and LiveLeak

Following the Friday mass shooting in Christchurch, New Zealand, multiple internet service providers (ISP) in the country have blocked access to websites that distribute gruesome content from the incident.

[...] At least three internet companies operating in New Zealand have made this decision voluntarily and enforce it on a temporary basis against sites that still publish the sensitive materials. Spark NZ, Vodafone NZ, and Vocus NZ agreed to work together to identify and block access at DNS level to such online locations. 8chan and 4chan are currently unavailable to New Zealanders trying to load them through a connection from the three telcos. At the moment, visitors trying to get to these forums through Spark NZ, Vodafone NZ and Vocus NZ see the message "The URL has been blocked for security reasons."

Some users reported that LiveLeak video-sharing platform was also blocked in the region, along with other websites, including file-sharing service Mega. The block is not permanent, though. As soon as the horrific content from the Christchurch incident originating from the terrorists is removed, access to the website is reestablished.

The Dark Night of Censorship falls on New Zealand

Everybody keeps waiting for the dystopia to arrive, well wait no more for it has made an appearance in New Zealand. Zero Hedge reports that New Zealand is dropping the hammer on all discussion about the recent shooting. The list is growing and will almost certainly be larger by the time this story goes live.

Current banned sites seem to be: Dissenter.com (the new service from Gab yet gab.com is still reported as available.... for now), "all" of the "chans" are banned, and Zerohedge itself is now banned.

Subscribers who ask their ISP are reporting being told sites will stay banned until they become "censorship compliant." Sites not banned: Facebook.com, which live streamed the attack, and Twitter.com, which hosted the original link to the shooter's "manifesto." Guess they are "censorship compliant."

Suppression of Christchurch shooting video

After Christchurch, Reddit bans communities infamous for sharing graphic videos of death

In the aftermath of the tragic mosque massacre that claimed 49 lives in Christchurch, New Zealand, tech companies scrambled to purge their platforms of promotional materials that the shooter left behind. As most of the internet is now unfortunately aware, the event was broadcast live on Facebook, making it one of the most horrific incidents of violence to spread through online communities in realtime.

As Twitter users cautioned others from sharing the extraordinarily graphic video, some Reddit users actively sought the video and knew exactly where to look. The infamous subreddit r/watchpeopledie was quarantined (making it unsearchable) in September 2018 but until today remained active for anyone to visit directly. The subreddit has a long history of sharing extremely graphic videos following tragic events and acts of violence, like the 2018 murder of two female tourists in Morocco.

[...] The subreddit remained active until some time late Friday morning Pacific Time, when Reddit banned the controversial community.

How 'hashing' could stop violent videos from spreading

Some experts say tech companies should more broadly adopt a technology they're already using to combat child pornography and copyright violations to more quickly stop the spread of these types of videos.

[...] Facebook (FB) says it took down the livestream "quickly," but hours later, re-uploads of it were still circulating on the site. Twitter suspended the original account in question and is working to remove other versions on the platform. YouTube said it is utilizing "technology and human resources" to remove content that violates their policies.

Technologists say digital hashing, which has existed for more than a decade, could be better used to prevent the re-upload of videos. Hashing wouldn't have been able to catch the original live video of the attacks, but it could stop re-uploaded copies from spreading.

                Mussolini [wikipedia.org]

[1917] Mussolini denounced the PSI, his views now centering on nationalism instead of socialism and later founded the fascist movement which came to oppose egalitarianism[6] and class conflict, instead advocating "revolutionary nationalism" transcending class lines.
                ...
Mussolini rejected egalitarianism, a core doctrine of socialism.[6] He was influenced by Nietzsche's anti-Christian ideas and negation of God's existence. [40] Mussolini felt that socialism had faltered, in view of the failures of Marxist determinism and social democratic reformism, and believed that Nietzsche's ideas would strengthen socialism. While associated with socialism, Mussolini's writings eventually indicated that he had abandoned Marxism and egalitarianism in favor of Nietzsche's übermensch concept and anti-egalitarianism.

The Marxists believed WW1 would result in the proletariat overthrowing the bourgeoisie. The schism occurred when that didn't happen and class conflict was abandoned by many Marxists who then became fascists. Further illustrated by former left wing British MP Oswald Mosley and his BUF. [wordpress.com] As further paralleled by the contemptuous rejection of the working class by today's left who favor identity politics and race conflict in their lust for murderous power. Why '1984'? [theguardian.com]

Orwell's title remains a mystery. Some say he was alluding to the centenary of the Fabian Society, founded in 1884.

After annihilating Stalinism in Animal Farm, Orwell turned his ire to elitist socialists -- the total war society depicted in 1984 being undeniably fascistic.

                      Mussolini the Marxist? [wikipedia.org]

Mussolini was so familiar with Marxist literature that in his own writings he would not only quote from well-known Marxist works but also from the relatively obscure works. During this period, Mussolini, like all revolutionaries, considered himself a Marxist and he described Marx as "the greatest of all theorists of socialism."

But what of his support for Nietzsche's Ubermensch, surely that wasn't socialist? [wikipedia.org] What about his support for the war? [wikipedia.org]

The socialist movements had declared before the war their opposition to a war which they said could only mean workers killing each other in the interests of their bosses. But once the war was declared, most socialist and trade union bodies decided to back the government of their country and support the war.

Can't say the syndicalist policies were left wing though huh? [libertarianism.org]

Even as it offered a critique of existing socialism, it is important to recall that Italian fascism was distinctly and self-consciously socialist, its policy content and character as a movement emerging from the constellation of socialist organizations active in Italy in the early twentieth century.

A Bernie Sanders supporter? That's still a supporter of capitalism, so it is only "left" relative to the reactionary orientation of the two major capitalist parties. Still rightwards of most Trotskyists, even the ones at Socialist Alternative (who think Bernie is insane for not using his mass appeal to form a socialist party independent of the Democratic Party... and then there is wswswsws and their rejection of parliamentarianism as a feasible method of proletarian revolution).

If Bernie Sanders is "left," your political spectrum sucks. You're viewing the world with blinders on, seeing only the false, skewed dichotomies the ruling class wants you to see, because those false dichotomies keep you under control while letting you think you have a choice. (viz. "The matrix has you.") But I see why the original gewg_ gave up.

Speaking of the Matrix... one of the underappreciated aspects of the sequels is that the myth of the "one" itself is another system of control designed to mislead. Instead of being a neat sci-fi thing like the matrix itself, the real system of control uses the oldest method in the book: propaganda (specifically, the myth of the "one" itself). The machines don't actually need special effects extravaganza. They just need to convince the humans that there is a method of rebellion (i.e. the Democratic Party), funnel discontent into that method of rebellion, while keeping it a tightly guarded secret that the method of rebellion remains firmly under the control and supervision of the machines. (Also sort of goes back to wswswsws' rejection of parliamentarianism.)

The Seattle General Strike (and the road not taken that leads NO ONE KNOWS WHERE) shows that workers are completely capable of running a city without catering to untalented, unskilled, unproductive, parasitical MBA PHBs who only know how to create drama ("there is no money!" *coughbullshitcough*) and waste time with TPS reports.

Why are there never any leftwing terrorists, I wonder...

Like Antifa? I have to agree that there's no 49 people killed by left wing gunman, at least in the US. It's pretty low grade, "punch a nazi" street terrorism - probably never qualify legally.

My take is that the reason why is that the sponsors of the terrorism changed. Back in the 1970s when left wing terrorism was sexy, particularly in Europe, there was a lot of material support for it from the USSR (and its satellite countries like East Germany). They didn't care that it was violent as long as it further Soviet goals. They were bringing down Western society, and willing to get their hands dirty to do that. Also, almost all of them were completely out of reach of any attempt at justice.

Now though, such groups are funded by some combination of middle and upper class donors from the same places (or similar ones). Sure, you probably have billionaire sponsors like Soros who not only have an interest in not screwing things up much for their own business, but also an aversion to serving jail time for mass murder and such. But you also have lots more small donors who like some action for whatever reasons, but would be turned off by overt terrorist acts.

Many right wing groups are funded in a similar fashion, like the NRA, and they don't have an interest in violence either.

It's about 55,000 killed in Muslim attacks every year. We'd need 3 of these attacks every day to even up the rate, and then we'd still need to make up for the previous 1300 years.

Also, since Muslims are now supposedly the left (got a couple in congress even), I see you've given up on LGBT rights and women's rights and anti-slavery and freedom from religion and any objection to antisemitism. Nice. I really don't see anything wrong with openly fighting you now.

          Your list is exclusively terrorism.

Islam is not limited to grand scale attacks. If a Muslim decides to quietly murder somebody in a hate crime against Christianity, that doesn't count. For example, a child who gets baptized Catholic has left Islam and thus all Muslims have a religious duty to kill that child.

Tipu Sultan persecuted the Hindus, Christians with the Mappila Muslims and carried out forced conversions of Hindus and Christians. According to C. K. Kareem, Tippu Sultan issued an edict for the destruction of Hindu temples in Kerala. The portrayal of Tipu Sultan as a religious bigot has been also disputed by some sources suggesting that he in fact often embraced religious pluralism.

Tipu got Runmust Khan, the Nawab of Kurnool, to launch a surprise attack upon the Kodava Hindus (also called Coorgs or Coorgis) who were besieged by the invading Muslim army. 500 were killed and over 40,000 Kodavas fled to the woods and concealed themselves in the mountains. In Seringapatam, the young men were reported to be forcibly circumcised and incorporated into the Ahmedy Corps, and they formed eight Risalas or regiments. Thousands of Kodava Hindus were seized along with the Raja and held captive at Seringapatam (Srirangapatna). They were also subjected to forcible conversions to Islam, death, and torture. The actual number of Kodavas that were captured in the operation is unclear. The British administrator Mark Wilks gives it as 70,000, historian Lewis Rice arrives at the figure of 85,000, while Mir Kirmani's score for the Coorg campaign is 80,000 men, women and child prisoners. In a letter to Runmust Khan, Tipu himself stated:

We proceeded with the utmost speed, and, at once, made prisoners of 40,000 occasion-seeking and sedition-exciting Coorgis, who alarmed at the approach of our victorious army, had slunk into woods, and concealed themselves in lofty mountains, inaccessible even to birds. Then carrying them away from their native country (the native place of sedition) we raised them to the honour of Islam, and incorporated them into our Ahmedy corps.

Are we taking historical figures into account? Take 49 from 40,000 giving 39,951. Are there even that many muslims in NZ to kill? When will the scales be balanced?

Killing is not justified. Anywhere. Anytime. Where the "buck stops", or should stop, is at the door of the (mostly liberal) policy makers and immigration people who have been systematically diluting "1st world western" culture since the 1960's. Anything goes as long as it makes men look stoopid, and anything to do with faith/church is pissed on openly. And as the foundations of society crumble (M.Zuckerschwein is a big part of this the last 10 years), all hell breaks loose. We don't want ghettos / enclaves like in Sweden where even their cops fear to go and the 'refugees' rule. We don't want to land up having another Hitler "cleansing" Europe and the west. We have a mess. Meanwhile, you don't see streams of people lining up to migrate TO Iran, Bangladesh, India, etc, etc. Racism is real, we all deep-down fear anyone different. Some of the source countries for migration are very racist, but once in the west they are saints in public and demand 'equality'. It is now a delicate road forward for governments that have compromised and compromised over decades to try and now define their country and look after their own 'home' interests over those set by the UN / EU and such.

Time Zone is incredible. One of the most complicated things Man has ever devised. In my Time Zone, it's now Friday. March 15. And you're quoting my exclusive interview with Breitbart, which I gave on Monday (my time). March 11. Very successful interview, they did many stories from that one. Which, by the way, I did a Sub of the best (most popular) story from Tuesday. Just to see what would happen. I knew what would happen. And that one's already rejected by Soylent News Editors -- as usual, no explanation. Just, Rejected. For me it wasn't yesterday. And, I think, for most of our amazing World, it wasn't yesterday. In Death Monkey Time Zone, I don't know, maybe it is.

I'm so happy that you read Breitbart. It's a very smart move. And it would be a great quote. In the Context, it would be a great quote. But you've taken it very far out of the Context. I was talking about America. About the problems we're having with our violent left, and alt-left. Something that, there was a story about it on Soylent News today. Which for you, possibly, is still a few days in the future. How my D.H.S. is using Surveillance to go after the instigators of the Caravans -- and doing a marvelous job. So in my interview, you left out, I said "When I see that – what’s going on on college campuses, when I see that young man get punched in the face, when I see that other one with cowbells – you know what I’m – I thought that was disgraceful. I can’t believe that any one would have let him do that. If I was speaking, I tell you, there’s no way I would have been allowed to just stand there like that and keep trying to make a speech [while] the guy’s ringing a bell right in your face. You can’t even – that was a terrible – Did you see that picture? Did you see? You know what I’m talking about? I thought that was really terrible."

Going to Mosque doesn't necessarily make somebody Left. And it doesn't make them right either -- not necessarily. But, I wasn't talking about Mosque. I was talking about Cowbell. The violence coming from our left. And I said, that violence is terrible. Cowbell, so horrible, right? I ask "right?" But I don't expect you to say "right." And I don't expect you to agree. Because it's your people doing the Cowbell Violence & many many violent acts. The Socialists, the Dems, the Democrat Socialists, the Antifa, the Black Identity Extremists. All ringing Cowbell as loud as they can. Until our great Silent Majority can barely hear ourselves think. And you call it a "discussion." It's not a discussion, it's mostly Cowbell. And it's too much Cowbell. Much too much.
