Arthur T Knackerbracket has found the following story:

Vegan and vegetarian diets lower the risk of heart disease but raise the risk of stroke, a major study suggests.

The research, published in the British Medical Journal, looked at 48,000 people for up to 18 years.

The vegans and vegetarians had 10 fewer cases of coronary heart disease per 1,000 people compared with the meat-eaters but three more cases of stroke.

Diet experts said, whatever people's dietary choice, eating a wide range of foods was best for their health.

It analyses data from the EPIC-Oxford study, a major long-term research project looking at diet and health.

[...] Altogether, there were 2,820 cases of coronary heart disease (CHD) and 1,072 cases of stroke - including 300 haemorrhagic strokes, which happen when a weakened blood vessel bursts and bleeds into the brain.

The pescetarians were found to have a 13% lower risk of CHD than the meat-eaters, while the vegetarians and vegans had a 22% lower risk. But those on plant-based diets had a 20% higher risk of stroke. The researchers suggested this could be linked to low vitamin B12 levels but said more studies were needed to investigate the connection.

It is also possible that the association may have nothing to do with people's diets and may just reflect other differences in the lives of people who do not eat meat. Dr Frankie Phillips, from the British Dietetic Association, says not - because this was an observational study. "They looked at what people ate and followed them for years, so it's an association, not cause-and-effect," she says.

Drinking cheap red wine and eating pasta soaked in olive oil every day doesn't make you healthy.

Taking the afternoon off to walk around and talk with friends every day, while not consuming deep fried foods and also not avoiding all physical activity, gets you most of the benefit of the Mediterranean "diet."

Mediterranean diet != Italian food (at least some of it)

it's high in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, beans, nut and other seeds, fish, low fat meat (and small quantity) and replace all other oil/fat/grease with olive oil.
red wine may be helpful, but only in small quantity, specially with you eat meat

Finally, one should eat different things, eating pizza, pasta, salad, fish every day in a week is not healthy too

Eating bacon every day, 3 times a day, with a side of ham, isn't going to do your body a whole lot of good. Eating, only these specific 3 things, because I don't like anything else. Isn't going to provide you with a balanced diet, either. You want lots of color in your food, Not Food Coloring, but actual natural foods with color. I can't say, that I've got the whole nutrition thing down, and that I'm the healthiest person in the world. It's too easy to just stick a pizza in the oven, or have a bowl of Ramen. I definitely need more exercise as well and I really need to work on staying hydrated throughout the day. In today's fast food, processed food, environment, it's really easy to not eat healthy food. What's more, it's cheaper to buy junk food in a lot of cases, than it is to buy good, healthy foods. Sure, maybe not, if you include medical bills. That doesn't help with paying the bills this month, though.

My takeaway from the article is that Vegans and Vegetarians are neurotic and stressed out from constantly and repeatedly having to explain their differences to everyone in sight and this raises their blood pressure, making them more prone to stroke.

Finally the meat industry is fighting back with its own agitprop through secretly funded studies. The tobacco, sugar, and alcohol industries have been doing that sort of thing for years.

Maybe now we can enjoy news articles about how lovely it is to eat a well-cooked steak, instead of trying to convince us that OH MY GOD!!! EATING MEAT IS DESTROYING THE UNIVERSE!!! or EAT BUGS!!! YOU KNOW YOU REALLY MUST IF YOU WANT TO BE A VIRTUOUS PERSON!

Seriously, somebody with deep, deep pockets is trying really hard to troll all of us with the veganism and entomophagy memes. There's a French movie called Le Diner des Cons [imdb.com] where a group of rich guys run a competition where each one invites an idiot to a private dinner as part of a competition to see which one of them has found the biggest idiot, and it feels like there's a similar competition running with the lizard people where they're trying to get the sheeple to swallow the stupidest memes. They've already somewhat succeeded with the trannie stuff, and now they're pushing the veganism and entomophagy. The other day somebody tried to top all of them that we need to resort to cannibalism to solve climate change.

The rest of us need to slap them silly for all this bullshit.
