Galaxy S11 giant screen sizes, 108MP camera and colors just leaked.

A new leak says that all of the Samsung Galaxy S11 phones will come in even bigger sizes than the S10 line, reaching up a skateboard-worthy 6.9 inches for the S11 Plus, which will come only as a 5G phone. Moreover, software leaks confirm they will come with an oversized 108MP camera sensor.

Because what people look for most is a phone that won't fit in any of their pockets.

On the one hand: I'm glad to see the world moving beyond "phones". These things are capable portable computers that are always connected to the internet. They even run Microsoft Office if you want. Forcing interaction through a tiny screen really limits their usefulness. And the weird split between tablets (useful size, no phone calls) and phones (tiny size, phone calls) has always bugged me since they run the same software.

'..And the weird split between tablets (useful size, no phone calls) and phones (tiny size, phone calls) has always bugged me since they run the same software.'

Weirdly, the 10.something" tablet I'm typing this on whilst I update the various apps (cheap, sub 80 GBP Chinese Beista POS) makes calls, has dual SIM slots etc..was bought as a light (as in weight) tablet for a family member with very aggressive rheumatoid arthritis..its about the upper weight limit she can comfortably hold for any sustained length of time.

It's spec is shit compared to some of the 'brand name' models, for the price I didn't expect anything better, and as a bonus came with bundled spyware (removed after I rooted the bugger), no updates, no real prospect of running anything other than the bundled android version, but it meets the weight requirement and does the job..

For gits and shiggles I installed Kali on this tablet via termux and anlinux, surprisingly, it sort of worked..it's also a very very weird feeling compiling stuff from source directly on the tablet and then running it...hell, I've even run some of my decades old Perl code directly on it..this thing which looks like a plastic toy has more processing power than the workstations I spent the better part of the 90's and 00's sitting in front of, and all it normally gets used for is web browsing, email and watching videos..
Of course, one of my Android phones seriously outperforms this tablet, and all it gets used for is email and phonecalls..

I was working for Samsung at the peak of phablet novelty/popularity (yes, I hated that term too, but I got over it, it was a silly concept, so deserved a silly name). When we visited head office in Suwon, and then did some R&R in Seoul, those 5+" fuckers were all the rage, I saw them everywhere. However, it wasn't small-dick compensation that I was seeing - the people who loved these devices so much presumably had no dick. Once your limit is handbag/shoulderbag rather than pocket, you can expand your horizons and enable a whole new range of ways to look stupid as you interact with tech.

Shit, that explains the short-lived man purse fad among hipsters and other such betas. If they'd ever worked a day in their life they would have known a tool belt or briefcase would also carry shit and not make you look like an enormous pussy.

You know, because more cameras = better, am I right? Because professional photographers no longer use real dedicated cameras, real photographers now use phones since they have more than one camera.

Also, I'm a small person so, you know, I need a bigger and bigger screen. One preferably so big that it won't even fit in my pocket anymore and that I'll have a hard time carrying it around and using it.

You know, because more cameras = better, am I right?

Yes, more cameras on the back of a smartphone can be better. More light collecting area, less need for adjustment by the user, hybrid zoom, possibility of depth effects, etc.

If it ends up looking like this [theverge.com], so be it.

There are hundreds of millions of people that are likely to carry a smartphone at most times, but not professional photography equipment.

As for the size... don't get the S11+, or anything you think is too large.
