What just happened? Sheng-Chang "Charles" Chiang, president and CEO of Taiwanese technology company Micro-Star International (MSI), reportedly fell from a building to his death earlier today. The circumstances behind the fall aren’t known at this hour as police are conducting an investigation according to a Google translation of a story originally published by ET Today.

The mayor was accused of sexual misconduct and pretty obviously committed suicide. The mayor was supposedly a pro feminist, champion of women's rights, who very likely said one thing and acted in quite a different manner. The MSI CEO, who knows, but I wouldn't rule out anything at this point.

Don't want to, ah, jump to any conclusions on this. I find it strange that someone who made it big in life would suicide.
And yet, many East Asian cultures do have a tradition of suicide, to expiate the shame of a huge failure or crime, or as a tactic of desperation.
