I'm just not celebrating this year.
      America is dead.
Whatever good that we were, we are now a declining power in the same vein as South Africa, just with a bigger military budget and a lot bigger economy and trade, for now.

This country is probably 10 years maximum, I mean maximum, from ripping itself apart. That's probably a cautious estimate.
If Biden wins, the Trumpies will riot and murder. Biden didn't have the real power since he was first elected.
If Trump wins, it wouldn't surprise me if some states secede. If they don't, I hope you like fascism. I certainly don't.

Before you say "good! good riddance California!" keep in mind that the Soviet Union imploded in much the same way.

We're already seeing the types of legislative conflicts and defiance between states and the federal government that the Soviet Republics tried against Moscow shortly before seceding, both left and right.
The United States has been destabilized and I don't see a way back. I just hope it collapses gracefully instead of catastrophically. We don't need a new Dark Ages.

The trumpies rioted a total of once. You've already seen both a Trump and a Biden presidency. The lefties also rioted at Trump's inauguration, plus don't forget 2020 and saint floyd.

Your "fascism" already played out and wasn't any more fascist than under Biden. Nobody is seceding, it's just more steady decline. Oh and this time it's fucking tech so you won't be insulated. Enjoy being an 70s auto worker.

Look at it this way: if a bunch of the Southern states secede, their economies will collapse instantly without all that sweet, sweet blue state tax money they keep draining from us. And The Peoples' Republic of Texassistan will suddenly find itself *alone* on the Mexican border.

Is that the dependence of Scotland on England, the USA on the UK, or the UK on the EU?

We might not know until the votes are counted. I am not expecting the Scots and English to link arms and drink together. Neither am I expecting the USA to ask to be part of the British Empire (and if you did some of your politicians might have to go first :)). Finally, I wouldn't bet on the EU asking us to rejoin them again either.

At least there are a good number of parties putting candidates forward to be your local representative (5+ main parties, depending on where you are in the UK). It may not be a true multi-party system as it uses first-past-the-post, but I prefer that to an inherently two-party system like the USA has.

Yes will be interesting to see how well the smaller parties do compared to the past. Greens for example are projected to gain 1 or more seats. Nice if a growth of smaller parties will be allowed to continue into the future.
