Tim Curry has died at age 80

The British actor was known for iconic roles like Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Pennywise.

Curry earned three Tony nominations and a Daytime Emmy and released three musical albums in his career

The British star got his start on stage in the West End, starring in the original London production of Hair in 1968 after attending Birmingham University. But according to the actor, he fudged his own experience to get a part in the show. "When asked if he had professional experience and an Equity card, Tim lied about both," his website reads. "By the time the producers found out the truth, they were sufficiently impressed with his talent and presence to sponsor him for his union membership."

In 2012, Curry suffered a major stroke and has used a wheelchair since. Curry, who never married and has no children, mostly pulled back on his acting career then, focusing instead on voiceover projects.

      I've been re-watching Babylon 5 as of late, and one of my favorite quotes comes to mind: "You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

      So many good, decent, capable people get killed off when they're in their early 20's. And so many monsters make it to a ripe old age and die comfortably in their beds surrounded by family and admirers. It's a track record like that which leads so many into believing in some kind of judgment after death, because this is in no way a new phenomenon.

        Three B5 quotes about Trump:

        "The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote."

        "Reflection, surprise, terror. For the future."

        and finally;
        "No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There's always a Boom tomorrow."

          20 is not a strictly speaking a "word"; its a number being used as a word (ie its a placeholder for "twenty"). Yes, grammar guides say it should still be written as 20s but I'd argue its technically a slightly different error.

          The instinct here is a lot more forgivable because it serves as a 'separator' for something that is a non-word that is being used as word (and then pluralized). And sometimes it even makes more sense, like if you are limted to all-caps for signage, for example.
          "GPSS AVAILABLE HERE" --- what is a GPSS?? General purpose simulation system?? Oh... GPSs. I'd have to concede that "GPS'S AVAILABLE HERE" is clearer.
