Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

A report from c|net adds:

White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memorandum late Thursday that the president and first lady were "both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence."

The announcement of the president and first lady's positive coronavirus test results came just hours after the revelation that top White House aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus as well. The president indicated in an earlier tweet that he and the first lady had begun the quarantine process.

Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

    Your question is invalid.

Hardly breaking news. Hope always "brought the machine" to Trump, so no surprise. Good thing he brought her back, even after the terrible things she did. I Hope Trump has health insurance. What is the fatality rate among Slovenian fashion models, of a certain age, anyway? And who subbed this crap?

And yet you still can't make your case, third time in a row. Trump getting COVID 19 is news. We'll see if those drugs he was pushing work for him.

That last reply was not me, but good try. There is no point going down the rabbit hole of lame excuses, I made my point and ibviously no one else cares. Yes this is news, no I don't have a MASSIVE problem with it except for the stories that do get rejected while lame shit like this can be thrown on the front page at any moment.

It didn't displace any stories (it was slotted in between two of them without changing their release times) and you can choose not to click on it. You could use an RSS reader that displays headlines only to make that easier for you, instead of using the front page.

This lame shit, which is the #1 story globally, is an obvious containment zone for comments that would otherwise spill over into other stories. I heard about the news ~20 minutes after it broke, so I pushed it out immediately.

Ah yes, we the community must depend on what you editors deem acceptable. I've had numerous submissions of ourely science/tech stories fade into the voud while boring shit with no comments gets published. That doesn't even touch the censorship here of any story regarding the rightwing corrultion, or how tech is used to target and radicalize people.

So whatever, I'm just sad seeing this place slowly crumble into a salt&pepper chanboard. Not quite there yet, but not far off.

Thanks, Tak. I gotcha. Better to keep the oil change in a catchment pan than to have it run everywhere along the concrete, staining other surfaces.

                To use a car analogy.
