Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

It is what it is.
Cancel the debates. Oh no, all my prep down the drain...
No need for that, just let the viceprezwannabes duke it out.
That actually would be a good idea. Line up Ivanka and Jared against their Democrat equivalents too. Let the country see these untalented bullshitters for what they are.
The ONLY reason he caught the COVID was because he got tested for it like an idiot, phfft amateur! What did he expect? I guess masks don't work after all.
masks work if the infected person was wearing one, properly, and everyone was also practicing proper social distancing and correct hygiene practices...
too much for some.
Masks don't stop it from sporeading in fecal matter or via tears, ears, and sweat.
You need to plug all orifices to be safe.
Maybe lay off the scat play for a couple weeks.
Hey! Don't trample on muh rights!
Yes, but the infected person that gave Trump a golden shower WAS wearing a mask, and he still got COVID.
This is all fulfillment of prophecy...
"Here come old flat-top, he come groovin' up slowly"
"Got to be a joker, he just do what he please"
"He say, 'I know you, you know me'One thing I can tell you is you got to be free"
"He got feet down below his kneeHold you in his armchair, you can feel his disease"
Hang in there, dude! Odds are you will pull through. Be more careful going forward, though.
Sometimes, the only winning move is not to play.
He deserves to be in prison not dead, but still your support of someone who has destroyed your country is a little repulsive. Or are you Russian?
Thankfully, I am not responsible for deciding what he deserves, though Darwin may weigh in.
A country is ever-so-much more than its present figure-head, and for the most part is unaffected by it. Whom I support, you would never guess in a million years.
Nor am I Russian. I am, nonetheless, human, and sincerely wish the best for my fellow humans. AFAICT, none of us chose to be sentenced to an eighty year confinement in this gravity well, but then here we are. The funny thing is how we all see it so differently.
I celebrate this.
This is obviously just another step in the evil Democrats' plan to stop Mein Fuhrer our wonderful president from rooting out all the murderous pedophiles in their midst!
He's already uncovered, arrested and prosecuted so many of these horrible, murderous pedophiles when he set off The Storm [rationalwiki.org].
Even now, Killary, Hussein Obama, Rahm Emmanuel, John Podesta, James Alefantis, Oprah Winfrey and dozens of others are locked up in the dankest cells at Gitmo.
Chuck and Nancy know they're next, which is why they've both fled to Ukraine, which has been completely bought by George Soros and has been trying to discredit our fearless leader and the US's most steadfast friend, the Russian Confederation.
This is just *another* assassination attempt against our (soon-to-be) President for life! Death to the pedophiles! Death to the satanists! Death to the Democrats!

DeAnna Lorraine - @DeAnna4Congress
I’m just going to say what we’re all thinking.
Trump was fine until the debate, where they set up microphones & podiums for him.
Incubation period is usually 2-3 days.
He tests positive a couple of days after the debate.
I put nothing past the left. NOTHING.
Actually average incubation is generally held to be around 5 days, range 3-14, symptoms start at 4-5, people may be infectious 1 or possibly 2 days before symptoms.
Importantly, Hicks tested positive on Thursday after becoming symptomatic, the debate on Tuesday just isn't a credible vector, Hicks is. Now, if Biden goes positive this weekend or early next week...
That raises an interesting question: If all candidates died from the pandemic, what would happen with the election?
And for clarification: Of course that is just a hypothetical question, not something I wish to happen.
That's an ingesting good question, and the Supreme Court hasn't been very specific about it, but the guess is that the Electoral College would decide. Even if the first round votes are entailed, succeeding rounds if there's no victor on the first round would have the electors free to choose.
In some states, the electors are required by law to cast their vote only for the candidate that won in the state's election. Even where that is not the case, who exactly might they vote for? That assumes that both candidates die between the state's election and the EC formalizing the election. Otherwise, the state elections don't happen and so there are no electors to send to the EC.
IIUC, that requirement only applies to the first round ballots. Afterwards they can vote for anyone they choose to vote for. It's happened before.
First off, it's unlikely, because both Jorgensen (Libertarian) and Hawkins (Green) remain healthy.
Second, my understanding is that under current law, if a president-elect dies, their running mate becomes the new president-elect, and between that and the Electoral College I suspect that would effectively mean that votes for a deceased candidate would be treated as votes for their running mate.
That depends on whether or not the Electoral College has voted or not. If they have not, there is *no* President (or Vice President) Elect.
We don't really have a hard fast rule on that, but presumable the succession of power would be followed making the Speaker of the House the President Pro Tem, in this case Nancy Pelosi. It would be her job to hold down the fort and arrange for a special election as quickly as is practical.
But, China! China engineered it! That's why it's the "Chinese virus".
So which is it, China or the Left? Oh, yeah, China and the Left must be in cahoots. It's both of them!
Actually, Trump's and the Right's refusal to wear masks, it's like they were trying to catch it. They wanted to catch it. Wanted to achieve herd immentality something or other. And now, he's done it. And after purposely infecting himself, he's playing the victim card and blaming the Democrats. Brilliant! Ain't he a corker?
People of America, obviously the Right, the Left, and China are all in it together. We're so f'ed.
Ya know, we could sterilize Washington D.C. One nuke, right? Then we could blame it on some other nation.
(Okay, that unhinged enough yet? Scared? You're gonna answer for this, to the Coca-cola company! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ9B7owHxMQ [youtube.com] )
She had a previous Tweet she deleted (a pity I didn't take a screenshot) going verbatim:
DeAnna Lorraine 🇺🇸 @DeAnna4CongressChina must pay for giving Trump COVID. This is not a game anymore. #TrumpHasCOVID. We will have justice.
The google cache [googleusercontent.com] (for as long as it may last).
She had to delete the tweet [twitter.com] because of the "Fuck you, those 200k+ deaths were a game?" type of replies.
I've actually been looking around for contact info and can't find it -- Chris Wallace shook his hand during the debate, and while I'm assuming (?) he used sanitizer afterwards, none of them were wearing masks, right?
Is *he* being tested? I mean, he's an actual *real* fake news journalist, it would really suck if he got sick or worse.
I feel your deep sympathy. It would certainly suck if the fake news media died or worse.
I'm leaning more toward a calculated infection, after his BIGLY win in the debate this allows him to bow out until the polls close.
Unlikely...unless the results reported are fake. There's still no good way to treat COVID, and Trump has many of the comorbidities. (I wonder what blood type he has? Type A is a less reported comorbidity.)
unless the results reported are fake
Who is always talking about fake news?
Yes, but that doesn't mean that this is. Could be, could be not. Probabilities are that he did get reported positive, but the chance that it's fake needs to be considered. And there's also a level of false positives and false negatives in the actual test.
If I were Trump, I'd be having plenty of tests done and be ready to pull out a false positive whenever I wanted to.
Exactly: is it more fake news? Marketing? Get his name i the news CONSTANTLY and he gets to avoid looking dumb in future debates because they're cancelled?
I'm guessing the NDP got elected in Quebec (Canada) because the NDP leader died and there was CONSTANT news about him: CONSTANTLY being talked about, what a (sarcasm) 'great' man (/sarcasm) he was that Quebeckers said "Hey, everyone is talking about this GREAT NDP leader! I'm voting NDP!"
Trump could avoid debates, gain sympathy for him and his, "get better" with no resulting problems AND have his name in the news CONSTANTLY......
.....watch for him to "get better".....marketing at it's finest?
Not only avoid debates, but he and Melania now have a sick note from their Doctor telling them they aren't allowed to go out and do all that tiresome last weeks campaigning... totally on-brand for Mr. Bone Spurs.
I thought he liked campaign rallies, even during the pandemic.
after watching the end of the debate where Trump greets Melania with a "Hey, buddy, hows it going" pat on the back, my guess is they won't be spending the time catching up on 'making whoopy', lol.
My bet is if he loses this election, she'll ask for a divorce unless he has a pre-nup giving her nothing. Maybe even if he wins...they do not look like they are in love.
Er, Jack Layton leading the NDP to sweep most of Quebec happened before he died, and the NDP failed to replicate that success in the subsequent general election.
Yeah, sorry: it was all the news about him being caught at the 'massage parlour', getting a massage at a place known for 'massages +'.
If by "calculated infection" you mean he'd lying about testing positive, it's a distinct possibility. He's definitely got reason to run from the rest of the debates and any sympathy he picks up is a big bonus.
I think it's Melania. God knows what she gets up to when Trump's busy at work. She could be injecting meth with the addicts and sharing glue bags. You know these shithole countries bring their diseases and possibly some good people too I presume.
Welp, looks like it [deadline.com].
Unless the clown croaks, nothing's changed.
Even then, like I kept saying, the clown is a symptom, an aggrevating factor, but not the cause.
Thanks for saying it again. Did you want to keep talking or was that more or less it?
>Even then, like I kept saying, the clown is a symptom, an aggrevating factor, but not the cause.
Yep, I've been saying this for a long time too. Trump isn't the problem, he's a symptom of a much deeper problem (and like you said, an aggravatiing factor).
If he keels over, someone else before long will probably rise up to take his place, after seeing how he got where he is by taking advantage of the deep divisions in our society. Honestly, I don't think things are going to get better in this country any time soon.
There's really no deep divisions, only idiots who keep parroting what professional liars tell them. Some of my friends actually think Trump is antisemitic, that is how dumbed down they are.
Well, his *is* antisemitic, but that's only a minor component of his values, and is more or less derivative of his being biased against everyone who isn't like him to the extent that they aren't like him.
If you think Trump is anti -semitic there is something very wrong with where you get your info. Basically that's a discussion ender since it shows you've got zero clue what is going on in the world.
Ah yes, one of the stable geniuses here to tell us how Trump is totally not a racist and everything we see and hear is fake newz.
Pathetic display of ignorance. I will slightly agree, he isn't as anti-semitic as he is bigoted against blacks and latinos, but he still views Jewish people as beneath him. He is a white supremacist, even going so far as to say "you've got good genes here" and "it's like the race horse theory" at one of his rallies. It is clear he was spoon fed racist eugenics rhetoric his whole life, and being a piss poor student he never learned better.
Trump is literally stupid greedy HItler 2.0. Thankfully being so greedy he cares more about money than genocide.
Yeah, why [vanityfair.com] would [haaretz.com] anybody [washingtonpost.com] think [theguardian.com] that [businessinsider.com]?
My general impression of his opinions on Jewish people:1. He fully believes the anti-Semitic stereotypes about Jews, such as associating Jews with banking and accounting. He definitely encourages and feeds those stereotypes, such as hinting that left-wing opposition to him is all being paid for by George Soros. He doesn't hate them exactly, or at least not so much that he has a problem with a Jew sleeping with his daughter, but he does belief certain things about all Jews whether or not those things are true.
2. He doesn't see American Jews as Americans, but rather as Israelis in exile. He wants the borders of Israel to expand (at the expense of the Palestinians, and possibly Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria) so the American Jews can all move there (which, for the record, many of them don't want to do). It's worth pointing out that this idea is fueled at least as much by evangelical Christian belief as by anything Jews have said.
3. He considers anti-Semitism to not be hatred of Jews, but opposition to the plan described in the previous point, even if that opposition is fueled by thinking that allowing a country to expand their borders to provide living space for their ethnic group has led to pretty big problems in the past (something European-descended Jews should know a great deal about), and even if the person or organization expressing that opposition is Jewish.
4. He has quite consistently refused to condemn people who are openly anti-Semitic. For instance, referring to the guys chanting "Jews will not replace us" as "good people". Or, after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, he seemed to think that the problem was that the synagogue hadn't invested in private security. And most recently, he refused to condemn the Proud Boys, whose leader created a video entitled "10 Things I Hate About Jews" which should make it pretty clear where they stand.
> There's really no deep divisions, only idiots who keep parroting what professional liars tell them.
The main division is that there's an entrenched minority party making policies that most of the country disagrees with.
someone else before long will probably rise up to take his place
That's one good thing about an oligarchy with a very limited number of people who actually can ascend to power... when you've killed off the worst one, the next worst one is usually a whole lot better.
Hey - you might really enjoy (or, er, learn from) Empire of Illusion by Chris Hedges. Have a peek. It discusses the problem of which Trump is a manifestaton.
That's insulting to clowns. They do a professional job of putting on their makeup.
If he doesn't die from this, I'm going to assume he's trying to get some sympathy votes. Next tweet will probably say the real final test result is negative anyway.
Even Fauci is starting to say some correct things:https://news.yahoo.com/fauci-says-best-things-keep-214817954.html [yahoo.com]
If Trumps not taking this stuff he's an idiot.
And wouldn't you guess it, but if he follows the guidelines, he will miss the next two debates. He has to make it to the 15th and 22nd to be safe from each debate. Assuming he is symptomatic starting Friday and adding in the fact he is high risk, you get October 2nd + 20 days self-isolation per the guidelines. And would you look at that, what a coincidence. And if they change their mind, they can always claim that he has the clear PCR tests needed to end the isolation period early or claim the 10 day guideline applies because he was asymptomatic.
I'm thinking Pathological Liar too. What if this is all a fake, no positive tests in the White House at all. It's really easy to fake sick for a week or two and then "recover".
See, it's not a bad disease at all<sarcasm>.
What if 95% of the positive tests are fake on purpose just to make the disease seem less deadly than it is?
That looks like a really fun rabbit hole! What if all the NEGATIVE results are face? What if we are all infected? And, what if the virus is busy mutating into something from Alien inside all of us? And, what if . . .
Waitaminit - I'm not giving away all of the plot (or lack thereof) for the next Hollweird production.

The Lord granted us the China virus to take out the orange clown.
The Lord is a funny guy.
Oops, Excuse me, millenials - a funny LGBTQCis XYZ
He did tell Pat Robertson to run for president but didn't tell anyone to vote for him. God has a sense of humor.
...umm... not exactly, I need to finish that parser first, but it doesn't hurt to hypocritically give a dam' in a formal polite way.
Run it a few more times and it'll spew out "how good's the cricket!".
Noooo! That'll break the unit tests.
(besides, I never understood team sports that keeps on for days on a single match)
I had an acquaintance from "Straya" (as he liked to call it) that insisted that Test Cricket was the ultimate sport. It was the best test of strategy, teamwork, endurance, etc. man has ever produced. Then he spent weeks watching Olympic Ice Hockey, men's and women's, and Paralympic Sledge Hockey. All the matches of each. He was hooked. By the time the Stanley Cup Playoffs Conference Finals were getting ready to start, you were hard pressed to get him to watch cricket at all.
I believe that cricket, like gardening, is a great opportunity to sip on your favourite tipple while reading a book and/or listening to Radio 4. The sport is secondary.
Well, the crickets do belong in the garden, so I think you are onto something there.
I would have agreed with you, because I've seen how half of my guests treat the Super Bowl and Stanley Cup Finals. But with him and many of his friends, the sport was definitely primary, as is the actual football/hockey game is for the other half of my guests at said parties.
For the non-Aussies here, that's that line the prime minister here gave when he was trying to distract everyone from his government's total inaction during the catastrophic bushfires last year. It was not long after the 'thoughts and prayers' brush-off he'd given earlier after he'd railroaded any effective relief funding.
And paper towels
And lots of Hydroxychloroquine.
At least 1 liter of Hydroxychloroquine per day.
Old lady in commercial; "Where's the Bleach?"
Now he's more like coughs and sprayers.
I'm sure he'll get the best medical care the taxpayers can provide.
Unlike most of the US population.
Be put on a ventilator right away?
The only healthcare that motherfucker needs is a bunch of hydroxychloroquine, which he can take along with drinking bleach and drano.
HCQ is a vaccine and bleach is a cure for outside the body.
And then he will turn around and claim it is no big deal.
Yeah, he'll get the HCQ if his doctors feel it is appropriate, no state government can deny it to him for political reasons.
However many gallons added to the IV that the doctors believe is necessary to do the job.
He only deserves what James Garfield didn't deserve.
If you think there's a country in the world where the average person gets the same level of healthcare as the head of government you're a fool.
Their convalescence? They haven't had ill effects yet.
It's just the flu, not sure what the big deal is.
They caught and started treating it before symptoms developed thanks to the multiple daily tests they're taking.
About the same as the distinction between HIV and AIDS.
Maybe. The antiviral people claim their stuff will work that way, but there haven't been any experiments prior to this to prove that they're correct, because just about nobody detects it early enough. So it *might* work. But would he be willing to start treatment before symptoms appear?
Maybe. The antiviral people claim their stuff will work that way, but there haven't been any experiments prior to this to prove that they're correct, because just about nobody detects it early enough.
Where you get that from? COVID19 ward staffers get swabs just as much as the president if not more and are treated following the same procedures.
I haven't heard of any reported trials of antivirals being tried during the early stages of the disease (before symptoms appear). If you have, I'd like a reference to them. During the later stages they aren't that effective, even though they help a bit.
I haven't heard of any reported trials of antivirals
I was commenting on "because just about nobody detects it early enough".
I should think it's obvious why you won't find remdesivir studies for pre/asymptomatic exposure while the shortages continue... But regardless, the REGN-COV2 prevention trials just cleared phase 3: https://investor.regeneron.com/news-releases/news-release-details/regenerons-regn-cov2-antibody-cocktail-reduced-viral-levels-and [regeneron.com]
And...Tech Review reports that he's had a dose of Regeneron’s unapproved antibody drug,
> The president of the United States, Donald Trump, tested positive for covid-19 and within 24 hours had received an experimental, cutting-edge antibody treatment not available to other Americans.>> In a statement released Friday, the White House said Trump had received “a single 8-gram dose” of the biotech treatment, which belongs to a promising new class of antiviral drugs.
Yeah they probably saw good early results and assumed they managed to prevent the symptoms.
Regardless, he was just admitted to the hospital so he probably still ended up developing some mild symptoms so, in hindsight, OP was right and "convalescence" was a misleading choice of word.
