Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

A report from c|net adds:

White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memorandum late Thursday that the president and first lady were "both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence."

The announcement of the president and first lady's positive coronavirus test results came just hours after the revelation that top White House aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus as well. The president indicated in an earlier tweet that he and the first lady had begun the quarantine process.

Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

Unless the clown croaks, nothing's changed.

Even then, like I kept saying, the clown is a symptom, an aggrevating factor, but not the cause.

    >Even then, like I kept saying, the clown is a symptom, an aggrevating factor, but not the cause.

Yep, I've been saying this for a long time too. Trump isn't the problem, he's a symptom of a much deeper problem (and like you said, an aggravatiing factor).

If he keels over, someone else before long will probably rise up to take his place, after seeing how he got where he is by taking advantage of the deep divisions in our society. Honestly, I don't think things are going to get better in this country any time soon.

There's really no deep divisions, only idiots who keep parroting what professional liars tell them. Some of my friends actually think Trump is antisemitic, that is how dumbed down they are.

Well, his *is* antisemitic, but that's only a minor component of his values, and is more or less derivative of his being biased against everyone who isn't like him to the extent that they aren't like him.

If you think Trump is anti -semitic there is something very wrong with where you get your info. Basically that's a discussion ender since it shows you've got zero clue what is going on in the world.

Ah yes, one of the stable geniuses here to tell us how Trump is totally not a racist and everything we see and hear is fake newz.

Pathetic display of ignorance. I will slightly agree, he isn't as anti-semitic as he is bigoted against blacks and latinos, but he still views Jewish people as beneath him. He is a white supremacist, even going so far as to say "you've got good genes here" and "it's like the race horse theory" at one of his rallies. It is clear he was spoon fed racist eugenics rhetoric his whole life, and being a piss poor student he never learned better.

Trump is literally stupid greedy HItler 2.0. Thankfully being so greedy he cares more about money than genocide.

            Yeah, why [vanityfair.com] would [haaretz.com] anybody [washingtonpost.com] think [theguardian.com] that [businessinsider.com]?

My general impression of his opinions on Jewish people:
            1. He fully believes the anti-Semitic stereotypes about Jews, such as associating Jews with banking and accounting. He definitely encourages and feeds those stereotypes, such as hinting that left-wing opposition to him is all being paid for by George Soros. He doesn't hate them exactly, or at least not so much that he has a problem with a Jew sleeping with his daughter, but he does belief certain things about all Jews whether or not those things are true.

            2. He doesn't see American Jews as Americans, but rather as Israelis in exile. He wants the borders of Israel to expand (at the expense of the Palestinians, and possibly Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria) so the American Jews can all move there (which, for the record, many of them don't want to do). It's worth pointing out that this idea is fueled at least as much by evangelical Christian belief as by anything Jews have said.

            3. He considers anti-Semitism to not be hatred of Jews, but opposition to the plan described in the previous point, even if that opposition is fueled by thinking that allowing a country to expand their borders to provide living space for their ethnic group has led to pretty big problems in the past (something European-descended Jews should know a great deal about), and even if the person or organization expressing that opposition is Jewish.

            4. He has quite consistently refused to condemn people who are openly anti-Semitic. For instance, referring to the guys chanting "Jews will not replace us" as "good people". Or, after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, he seemed to think that the problem was that the synagogue hadn't invested in private security. And most recently, he refused to condemn the Proud Boys, whose leader created a video entitled "10 Things I Hate About Jews" which should make it pretty clear where they stand.

        > There's really no deep divisions, only idiots who keep parroting what professional liars tell them.

The main division is that there's an entrenched minority party making policies that most of the country disagrees with.
