Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!

A report from c|net adds:

White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memorandum late Thursday that the president and first lady were "both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence."

The announcement of the president and first lady's positive coronavirus test results came just hours after the revelation that top White House aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus as well. The president indicated in an earlier tweet that he and the first lady had begun the quarantine process.

Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

I’m just going to say what we’re all thinking.

Trump was fine until the debate, where they set up microphones & podiums for him.

Incubation period is usually 2-3 days.

He tests positive a couple of days after the debate.

I put nothing past the left. NOTHING.

Actually average incubation is generally held to be around 5 days, range 3-14, symptoms start at 4-5, people may be infectious 1 or possibly 2 days before symptoms.

Importantly, Hicks tested positive on Thursday after becoming symptomatic, the debate on Tuesday just isn't a credible vector, Hicks is. Now, if Biden goes positive this weekend or early next week...

That raises an interesting question: If all candidates died from the pandemic, what would happen with the election?

And for clarification: Of course that is just a hypothetical question, not something I wish to happen.

That's an ingesting good question, and the Supreme Court hasn't been very specific about it, but the guess is that the Electoral College would decide. Even if the first round votes are entailed, succeeding rounds if there's no victor on the first round would have the electors free to choose.

In some states, the electors are required by law to cast their vote only for the candidate that won in the state's election. Even where that is not the case, who exactly might they vote for? That assumes that both candidates die between the state's election and the EC formalizing the election. Otherwise, the state elections don't happen and so there are no electors to send to the EC.

IIUC, that requirement only applies to the first round ballots. Afterwards they can vote for anyone they choose to vote for. It's happened before.

First off, it's unlikely, because both Jorgensen (Libertarian) and Hawkins (Green) remain healthy.

Second, my understanding is that under current law, if a president-elect dies, their running mate becomes the new president-elect, and between that and the Electoral College I suspect that would effectively mean that votes for a deceased candidate would be treated as votes for their running mate.

That depends on whether or not the Electoral College has voted or not. If they have not, there is *no* President (or Vice President) Elect.

We don't really have a hard fast rule on that, but presumable the succession of power would be followed making the Speaker of the House the President Pro Tem, in this case Nancy Pelosi. It would be her job to hold down the fort and arrange for a special election as quickly as is practical.

But, China! China engineered it! That's why it's the "Chinese virus".

So which is it, China or the Left? Oh, yeah, China and the Left must be in cahoots. It's both of them!

Actually, Trump's and the Right's refusal to wear masks, it's like they were trying to catch it. They wanted to catch it. Wanted to achieve herd immentality something or other. And now, he's done it. And after purposely infecting himself, he's playing the victim card and blaming the Democrats. Brilliant! Ain't he a corker?

People of America, obviously the Right, the Left, and China are all in it together. We're so f'ed.

Ya know, we could sterilize Washington D.C. One nuke, right? Then we could blame it on some other nation.

She had a previous Tweet she deleted (a pity I didn't take a screenshot) going verbatim:

China must pay for giving Trump COVID. This is not a game anymore. #TrumpHasCOVID. We will have justice.

The google cache [googleusercontent.com] (for as long as it may last).

She had to delete the tweet [twitter.com] because of the "Fuck you, those 200k+ deaths were a game?" type of replies.
