White House physician Dr. Sean Conley said in a memorandum late Thursday that the president and first lady were "both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence."
The announcement of the president and first lady's positive coronavirus test results came just hours after the revelation that top White House aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus as well. The president indicated in an earlier tweet that he and the first lady had begun the quarantine process.
Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!

I agree with both parent and grandparent, which is sad. It's an indictment of Trump's gaslighting and relationship to the truth and honesty that I think there is a reasonable chance that he's just lying so he can get sympathy and pretend that "yeah, it's not that bad, I was right all along."
It's just like how China initially said there was very low numbers and then strangely had a bunch of "re-infections" to true numbers up, only in reverse.

You don't want him to die of this yet. Ideally it would happen after election but before inauguration if in the short term, but I personally actually hope he survives this...so he can answer for his crimes once out of office.
While it would be incredibly fitting, just, and poetic for the asshole who deliberately downplayed this and bungled the response badly enough to lead to almost 200,000 needless extra deaths to die of COVID-19 himself, we need to think about the larger picture here. Death by 'rona is getting off much too easily and he and his cabinet and family will never face earthly justice if he does (though if he's smart he's ordering a double-wide asbestos-lined coffin, because where he's going he's gonna need it...).

How many deaths should there have been? Looks to me like there wasn't much of a way to keep covid out of the US. The problem with assertions like the above, is that they compare to a fantasy situation where nothing bad happens. First, show that the president has the power to make that fantasy situation possible through normal, competent action.

I have truly hated very few people in my life and when I actually achieve real hatred it weighs down my soul more than it causes them any discomfort. So I try to avoid engaging feelings of hate and try to work them back to derision and annoyance. Things that don't occupy my emotional state
It gets difficult as I said. People like khallow pretend to be intellectually rigorous, but on certain topics they become blind and dumb. I would give a finger or tow to magically be able to know which users are just shills and trolls, and which are brainwashed fools.

There are a disturbing number of people who follow Milton's idea of Satan's driving dogma "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven."
Leaving aside how incoherent both concepts are (eternal existence for a finite mind inevitably becomes looping eternal torment, and Heaven is a *far* worse problem for the Abrahamic nuttiness than Hell...), there seems to be some kind of common thread of narcissism and utter fixation on control with people like Trump that really *would* rather rule a desolate Hellscape than be out of power in a utopia.

Oh, good grief! Get some perspective! Humanity is not going to go extinct because of COVID-19. Many millions of people may die, and that really is a tragedy. Especially since many of those deaths are avoidable if only we had some real leadership in the White House instead of the orange guy in the clown suit. I couldn't help noticing that associated reports show that this news has affected oil prices and the stock market. Why??? Trump isn't actually running any significant industries. Let's face it, if Trump Tower (AKA the REAL Tower of Terror) and his golf courses all fell into a black hole today, it wouldn't really change anything in the world. If he shut down his tie business, workers in China would just pull a lever and start stitching a different label into the ties.
He certainly isn't responsible for drilling for oil or for sorting out the logistics of delivery and refining.
So the first order analysis is that any financial action taken is pure irrationality. The second order analysis suggests that it makes sense to get out IF you anticipate that others will act irrationally and damage the value of your holdings as a result. So it's fair to say that the market is ruled by irrationality and the fear of irrationality and it's players know it.
That leaves all the fine economic theories premised on economic decisions being rational floating in mid-air 6 feet off the end of a cliff, much like Wile E. Coyote just before he realizes he is once again destined to be a victim of gravity.
Some may try to rationalize it but that is just further irrationality, about as likely to be helpful as the Coyote's parasol when the boulder is falling.

There won't be any future regulation caused by Trump's illness until at least January 20th. That toncern would exist independently of his illness given the chances of Biden getting the win.

Watching the special report on Trump's conditioon worstening now. Apparently HE gets flown to Walter Reed and gets a new breakthrough treatment right now. He will not get a bill. No wonder he thinks theres no need to improve healthcare in the U.S.
If one of us get's COVID, we stay at home until we have trouble breathing, then we get an ambulance or otherwise arrange for a trip to the hospital. We do NOT get new cutting edge treatments unless or until we're headed for the ICU (if then). We very definitely DO get a bill.
Meanwhile, enough already, we've already gone from stating the facts to vague speculation by people who don't know any more than we do. Can we see how the Cubs are doing now and speculate after the game? There's probably only 3 outs left!
