BBC reports:

China has shut down Apple's online book and movie services as it imposes strict rules governing what can be published on the net.

Regulations were unveiled in March that outlawed foreign ownership of online publishing services. The rules also required that all content shown to Chinese people must be stored on servers based on the Chinese mainland.

Apple said it hoped access to the services would be restored soon.

Is it me or Soylent is starting to have hive mind. I see more and more troll moderation for disagree. I think negative votes should cost 2 mod points instead of 1. Jesus, not slashdot again.
This opinion was explained and although I disagree it's not definitely a troll.

    My 2 cents

I didn't mod it one way or the other but I can see a good case for it being modded troll:

    (1) There are zero facts, it is just a rant.
    (2) It engages in lowbrow, derogatory stereotyping.

I think either of those in sufficient quantity can qualify as trolling, but combined it is a slamdunk.

Have a hive mind for a while now… I trace it at least as far back as the Mozilla CEO discussion.

If you think about it, all the originals who jumped ship from beta must have had something in common. But i know for a fact there is no hive mind there. Aristarchus, TMB, MDC, and other easily recognized personalities clash frequently. Here, hold my beer and watch this:

JavaScript is not the language of the future, it's the best language of the present! In no other time was it possible to deliver your code to so many people and so quickly. Prototype inheritance is a greatness that should spread to every language. Speaking of great, PHP has been getting better and better these last few years. Anonymous functions are awesome and implemented even better than in JS, imo (the scoping part). This is a great time to be a Software Engineer. Yes, that's right, an Engineer.. of Software. Last weekend i uploaded a Sketch to an embedded microcontroller that blinked an LED every second. I should probably upgraded my Software Engineer title to something cooler now : P
