One of last year's best television science fiction shows, Orphan Black, will begin its second season this Saturday, April 19th.

The joint BBC America & Canadian Space Channel production is about Sarah, a street-wise young woman who witnesses her doppelganger commit suicide in a subway station. Unhappy with her own life, Sarah decides to take on the identity of the dead woman only to discover there are even more clones of her about town and some of them aren't very friendly.

Wired has a cheat sheet of characters and events for those who have seen season 1 but have forgotten some of the details over the last year.

For those who have not seen the first season, Amazon has obtained an exclusive license for the online streaming rights. If you still have a cable TV provider, it might be available on demand.

I've been quite impressed by Tatiana Maslany's [wikipedia.org] performances as many different characters in Orphan Black.
The technical aspects of how they reshoot the scenes multiple times with robotic cameras so they can stitch them all together seamlessly is also pretty cool. It's easy to believe that multiple Tatianas exist.
The story/script has its ups and downs, but overall I've enjoyed the show.

Somewhat off-topic, but if you haven't seen any of the new cartoon series "Rick and Morty" [wikipedia.org], go watch it, now. Right Now.
Season 1 has just finished airing, and is well worth a watch by any Soylenators worth their UID's :-)

My favourite episodes (in chronological order) would be:
            Episode 2 - Lawnmower Dog,
Episode 5 - Meeseeks and Destroy
Episode 9 - Something Ricked This Way Comes
and Episode 10 - Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind

Another must-see series with some similarities to Orphan Black is The Dollhouse. It is world rocking.

I completely agree. Rick and Morty is fantastic stuff. I was especially blown away by episode 6's existentially epic desolation.

Don't forget to watch through the credits of each episode, some of the best stuff happens in the epilogues.

Yeah the end of episode 6 was brilliant. It almost made it onto my favourites list, but I didn't want to list all the episodes :-).
I love the cardboard box in the garage with "time travel stuff" written on it. I intend to label a box the same way, though the contents will likely be a lot more mundane...

It made me wonder if that was a reference to the time-traveling cardboard box in the garage in Primer. [imdb.com]
