One time I used LHA to make an archive of my entire Amiga harddisk, and then later when I tried to restore everything it was somewhat screwed up because of metadata that hadn't been preserved.
From what I remember, Amiga files did not have metadata. If you wanted to associate information with a file (basically icon and program parameters), you needed to put it in an associated .info file (e.g., foo.info for file foo), which was an ordinary file with a specific data structure.

I think there was a flag marking executable files as such. Although it could have been some other issue, I'm not certain at this point.
