As reported at Recode:

Jeff Jones, the president of Uber, is quitting the car-hailing company after less than a year. The move by the No. 2 exec, said sources, is directly related to the multiple controversies there, including explosive charges of sexism and sexual harassment.

Jones, said sources, determined that this was not the situation he signed on for, especially after Uber CEO Travis Kalanick announced a search for a new COO to help him right the very troubled ship.

That was not the reason for Jones' departure, sources said, even though it meant that Kalanick was bringing in a new exec who could outrank him. Instead, these sources said, Jones determined that the situation at the company was more problematic than he realized.

[...] (UPDATE: Jones also confirmed the departure with a blistering assessment of the company. "It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber, and I can no longer continue as president of the ride sharing business," he said in a statement to Recode.)

Also at Bloomberg and The New York Times.

Third exec gone in one month.

Today would have been a good day for him to do it too.
What with the FBI director, under oath, testifying that grump lied about obama eavesdropping on him.
And with the FBI director, under oath, testifying that there is a criminal investigation into his campaign's links to russia.
His shit is starting to catch up to him and he's to old to keep running.

You know what is fucking annoying?
When someone is so stuck in their own head that they think an unexplained quote is meaningful to people who are not in their head.

Comey did not give "no comment" responses to either issue, he unquestionably said that there is an investigation into possible collusion between russia and trump's campaign.

Think about that for a second.

the FBI has confirmed there is an espionage investigation involving the White House

That has never happened before in the history of this country. A year ago that would have been no more than a Tom Clancy novel. Now it is real life.

You think it'd be a good thing if Trump quit?

I'm no fan of him by far, but I'm not so sure it'd be any better with him gone, because then we'd get Pence as president. I fear that could be even worse. Trump at least seems to have a tiny bit of humanity in him, as seen by his insistence on replacing Obamacare with something "great" that won't result in people not being taken care of, which is exactly what the other Republicans want to do. Pence isn't like that; he'll happily leave millions without any healthcare coverage, and then spout some Christian BS.

This is just like when GWB was president: someone taking him out would have been terrible, because then we would have been left with Cheney in command.

That was probably the prime motivation for their 2008 VP pick also.

        Wishful thinking dude.
The republicans have been courting the authoritarian bloc since the civil rights act.
It started with the dixiecrat exodus and Palin was just the first overt outreach to them because they had become so concentrated in the party that the upside to acknowleding them was worth the downside of acknowledging them. At least in the short term. Too bad for the calculators that it emboldened them into the tea party and ultimately a loss of control to them in the form of donald grump.

My first thought was: Bad headline. "President Quits" would be sufficient, clarify in summary :-) Much more clickable news...
