These are the latest "smart glasses" and they promise to turn your nose into a remote control

Using electrooculography sensors, Itchy Nose lets you reject a phone call, skip a song, or pause video through simple nosey tasks such as rubbing, flicking or pushing your [nose].

By aiming these sensors from the glasses at the nose, the glasses measure the "changing electric potential" as the wearer engages the several gestures.

The whole point is to make wearing tech a less-invasive interaction for those who are in social situations.

I can just imagine the hilarity that will ensue when I come down with a runny nose.

Also at The Verge.

Wasn't there a show called "Bewitched" where the lady twitched her nose to perform magic?

This is what we need to make (Gl)assholes great again. No pressing a clicky button on the frame, no voice activation, no red light when recording. Just nose scratch to capture candid video.

Yep..."I dream of Jennie". That was also my first thought when reading the summary.

ok, I understand that moving your hands to interact with a computer may be awkward in social situations.
so you suggest moving your nose instead.

I don't think that will work, because the nose is not very good at fine movements. unless you're an elephant, when this would work.

what I say is we should have a sticker underneath your nose, with buttons that you could press with your tongue.
and you can also have buttons on your chin.
the tongue can be controlled quite well, it is a very strong muscle so it won't get tired, and you don't have to do anything awkward with your hands.
in fact, your hands will be free to use tissues for wiping your buttons after use.

Surely this is just a "control" unless his nose is somehow not attached to his face or the glasses?

There are plenty of other ways to look stupid... why not a hat with various media buttons?
