The Satanic Temple, an activist group based in Salem, Massachusetts, is threatening to sue Twitter for religious discrimination after one of its co-founders had his Twitter account permanently suspended.

Lucien Greaves, the Satanic Temple's co-founder and spokesman, said his Twitter account was permanently suspended without any notice after he asked his followers to report a tweet that called for the Satanic Temple to be burned down.

"We're talking to lawyers today," Greaves said Friday about whether he planned to take legal action.

You're wrong about that. Satan's aim is to pull people away from God. So, yes, they are actually doing exactly what they believe.

When you say god, I'm going to go right ahead and assume you mean the Christian one, one of the many, many thousands of gods men have created over our history.

I have been pulled away from any belief in your god because the evidence for his existence is so poor, and I stopped believing in magic when I became an adult.

Satan had nothing to do with it. (Mostly because he doesn't exist either).

Allah is Arabic for "The God". So you just claimed God and Satan are one and the same.

Just thought I'd point it out.

Of course Satan, or rather using its original name of Lucifer exists. Lucifer is usually called Venus today, at least here and I've seen it with my own eyes. There's even evidence of hellish properties there, though no evidence of magical properties.

Well, according to the Bible (book of Job, specifically), the satan (it's not a name, but rather, a common noun) is sort of a prosecuting attorney in the court of heaven, who acts to tempt humans into abandoning their faith.

How the satan turned into Satan though is a strange matter, mostly tied up in the medieval period when The Devil got crafted out of a mishmosh of Samael, Lucifer, and mentions of the satan, among other, less Biblical sources, primarily with the aim of providing an archetypal enemy figure the Church could use to scare followers into doing their bidding. Considering how limited their ability to actually force people to behave was considering the lack of any modern technology, it was an effective ruse.

Religion of love...through fear. Or something. Ergot has a strange effect on people.

Very good. Yes, a fallen angel, cast down to Earth. In opposition to God, and tempting humans into sin.

Also equated with the serpent who beguiled Eve into eating of the fruit of the forbidden tree of knowledge, leading to mankind being cast out of the Garden of Eden.

Adam eats the fucking apple that "God" forbid him to eat, Eve get's the blame and the punishment (painful childbirth for all eternity). Every person born since then carries the blame for something none of them did.

Not necesarily. I still have my altars to Linus and Lemmy set up, despite the best efforts of the Stannic Temple.
