The BBC is reporting:
Xbox One owners are complaining that a new TV advert is switching their consoles on without their permission. The ad featuring Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul has the actor say "Xbox On" near its start. The instruction appears to trigger the machine's Kinect voice/motion sensor, activating the console. A spokesman for the firm said it had no comment at this time, but noted that previous ads had also featured voice commands.
I'm sure there's a relevant XKCD comic regarding voice control being a bad idea, but can't seem to find it.

As much as I hate the idea of "smart TVs", this has nothing to do with it and is wholly unrelated other than that you can play XBox One on a TV. (Since "smart TV" means integrating the electronics to do other things into the TV, and this has to do with a separate piece of electronics.)

It has to do with the very basic concept that your electronics will be remotely controlled and act against your interests. That concept can apply to many things.

Well howdy, Rip Van Winkle, glad you finally woke up and joined us!
While 'smart tv's' are insidious in their own right, this is about a gaming console, not a tv. Gaming consoles have always been hostile to the customers, and then got worse when they gained network connections.
I do like the idea of Adblock for tv's, but I don't think that will happen.
The thought of putting something like Adblock on a TV amuses me a lot. I can picture the Earth imploding from this!

I think we have something here.. Now if there was a generally available firmware "upgrade" for popular Smart-TV that blocked ads and logos.. MAYHAM for the marketing departments :-v
As a bonus said firmware will lack drivers for spyware ;)
