I can relate to this. I was huge into paranormal stuff, listened to him, loved the xfiles, and generally nerded out on the internet during the web 1.0 days. Fun times. Good memories.
Maybe it's in my head, but I feel the culture and society was radically different pre 9/11. Shows like art bell wouldn't work today.

It's not in your head. Millennial culture demands obedience to authority, participation in social media, and virtue signalling on social media to show obedience to authority. GenXers who never lost the emo attitude of the 1990s, who are quietly confident instead of spamming social media about their lives, and who continue to show irreverence toward authority have no place in society. They don't work, literally, because they are middle aged homeless bums who are incapable of performing the requisite cocksucking to land a job.

You don't understand the meaning of quietly confident, do you? I post as AC because I know who I am and who I am doesn't matter. I make a bonfire of my reputation by not having a reputation. I am the exact polar opposite of MICHAEL DAVID CRAWFORD who spams his name everywhere and builds his reputation around his giant ego while disingenuously posting articles on his blog about making a bonfire of his reputation.
