    Applicants apply for jobs, and NOTHING HAPPENS.

    Not all applicants are equally attractive to all employers. In bad economic times I've pounded down every available door for months getting nowhere. Other times, posting my resume on a company application website got me a call from the CEO within 4 hours, an interview the next day, and an offer matching my last salary and benefits on the spot. I actually quit that job for another, better one and have been offered a large retention bonus more than once.

    Find your niche, or create it. Or... lobby for UBI, lots of people are gonna need that in the not-so-distant future.
