Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The vote was 50-48 in favor of Kavanaugh.

Senators Collins, Flake, and Manchin had already announced their intentions to confirm Kavanaugh before the vote was held. Senator Lisa Murkowski, who was previously ready to vote "no", agreed to vote "present" instead so that Senator Steve Daines could attend his daughter's wedding instead of being present in the Senate to support Kavanaugh.

Notably the green party is more openly sexist than is the DNC or the RNC. It says so right there in their charter. The Libertarian party is of some interest, until the stoner actually speaks. The thing is, that these parties do not have mutually exclusive interests. Good environmental mangement is good economic policy.

The oddities of the parties are not neccessarily something to be particularly disappointed about. In either case, the only thing to do is start a local chapter and make it your own. If you can get enough people together, you can tweak the platform to your liking. In any case, yeah. The time to start was 2016. So get out there.

The identity politics is the one thing that gives me pause with the Green Party, but as TMB suggests always look at what individual candidates are proposing. I'd go with Socialist Equality Party over Green Party since Trotskyism explicitly rejects identity politics, but SEP is very small and looks to only have 1 candidate in the entire USA. Most voters in the USA will have at least one Green or Libertarian candidate on their ballot, often many. Libertarian Party in particular is very good about getting ballot access.
