Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The vote was 50-48 in favor of Kavanaugh.

Senators Collins, Flake, and Manchin had already announced their intentions to confirm Kavanaugh before the vote was held. Senator Lisa Murkowski, who was previously ready to vote "no", agreed to vote "present" instead so that Senator Steve Daines could attend his daughter's wedding instead of being present in the Senate to support Kavanaugh.

The US justice system is broken. Because:

    1. President Bill Clinton lied under oath about something not very important for the nation (consensual sex with an adult whose job depended on him), and was impeached. Thanks to the work of prosecutor Ken Starr and his assistant, Brett Kavanaugh.

    2. Appeals court Judge Brett Kavanaugh lied under oath about something not very important for the nation (that he drank too much when he was a student), ranted about "Clintons' revenge", and was appointed supreme court judge. I'm not even mentioning what he did or didn't do to dr. Ford here, because it was not investigated properly.

Two similar cases with radically different outcomes -> the system favours the Republicans.

And now, *because* Kavanaugh was appointed, it is skewed even more.

I'm curious what will happen when president Trump declares: "elections are not necessary anymore", and the supreme court replies: "yeah, sure, mr. president-for-life."

Vladimir Putin plays it safe, and just gets competitors quietly harassed or eliminated, but keeps up appearences that it's a free election, to manufacture doubt over if it's really rigged.

Donald Trump is very different, it looks like he gets high on publicly polarizing the Americans between "Trump's Minions" and "the liberal elite".

The D's are the polarizing influence in this nation, far more than the R's. They're going to change their party name to Polaroid, and all wear polarized sunglasses. It'll be like Men in Black.
