The CBC has grabbed a brain and got it moving again!

So the loud minority is starting to be drowned out by the usually silent majority: good for all those who have brains.
Original:
So radio stations are banning "Baby, it's cold outside" because there are too many losers in the world.
My. God., People. Are. Stupid.
It's a really nice Christmas song about a girl wanting to stay with her man for....'cuddles', but she can't because society would call her a 'whore/slut' if she did.
She is wrestling with WANTING to stay but 'having' to leave because society is filled with losers.
Look:
"I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some records on while I pour
The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
C'mon baby
I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more - Never such a blizzard before
I've got to get home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your coat - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
Baby it's cold outside"
Read it!
There are no rape drugs in her drink: she's making an excuse for not leaving, just like in the lines:
"But don't you see
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
At least there will be plenty implied
I really can't stay"
She wants to stay, but feels she can't.
Only stupid people could object to this song.
Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid people.
My. God.

I'm sure I did not spare a single moment of my childhood to think deeply about this song's lyrics. It was just a blur like the other 30-40 Christmas songs that are repeated ad nauseam this time of year.
If any music is going to make male kids start catcalling and pestering women, it would be the many misogynistic and highly sexually charged hip hop songs that are explicitly offensive. But even that genre has become a little more socially [thedailybeast.com] conscious [afropunk.com] lately. No, the real culprits are, as has been the case since prehistory, hormones and the desire for the pussy. Culture, psychology/fear, and the legal system merely amplify it. But it would be difficult to trace bad behavior back to this particular song. Like a kid or teenager analyzed the lyrics of this Codex XXXmas and decided to totally alter their behavior towards women, becoming more aggressive and pushy. And around every
Christmasholiday season, as the cold sinks into their bones, they hear this song repeated hundreds of times on the radio, and are gradually reprogrammed into catcalling rape bros. What we have here are some stink pieces written a few months ago (or maybe a couple [washingtonpost.com] of years [vox.com]) reaching the attention of some oversensitive (possibly scared of #MeToo) radio hosts/stations, resulting in this lame ban.

Don't forget the female desires: as you say, sometimes women just want sex too.
