The CBC has grabbed a brain and got it moving again!

So the loud minority is starting to be drowned out by the usually silent majority: good for all those who have brains.
Original:
So radio stations are banning "Baby, it's cold outside" because there are too many losers in the world.
My. God., People. Are. Stupid.
It's a really nice Christmas song about a girl wanting to stay with her man for....'cuddles', but she can't because society would call her a 'whore/slut' if she did.
She is wrestling with WANTING to stay but 'having' to leave because society is filled with losers.
Look:
"I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside
I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry
My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry
Well Maybe just a half a drink more - Put some records on while I pour
The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move a little closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride
I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
C'mon baby
I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no - Ooh baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm -- Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look so delicious
My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips look delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more - Never such a blizzard before
I've got to get home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me your coat - It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand - Your eyes are like starlight now
But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Making my life long sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay - Get over that old out
Ahh, but it's cold outside
Baby it's cold outside"
Read it!
There are no rape drugs in her drink: she's making an excuse for not leaving, just like in the lines:
"But don't you see
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
At least there will be plenty implied
I really can't stay"
She wants to stay, but feels she can't.
Only stupid people could object to this song.
Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid people.
My. God.

I was the original AC not the one you just responded to. I tried to make it clear that it is a contextual issue, so your clarification of "context" is pointless. I would say just let people's hysteria work itself out, in this case you can make points for both contextual scenarios.
"or she would just. leave."
Sorry but no. Let me make it clear again, the context of the song seems to steer towards true romance, not some creepy date rape story. HOWEVER, from my own mother who was raped "a woman should just let it happen otherwise you might get murdered." My own mother explaining women's reality, and you have the gall to say "or she would just leave." There is way more to sexual assault than simple confusion and mixed signals.
So again, I take the positive contextual stance, especially after reading about the history of it; but I am capable of understanding why someone else might find it very disturbing. I think you should find a better hill to make your stand.

I'm sorry for your mother, but context?
She says over and over she doesn't want to leave: she says she SHOULD but she's ENJOYING herself and the only thing giving her pause is her rep!
Nothing about "Get out of my way" or "Let go of me".
The context is they are enjoying each others company and they don't want to separate.

I already said I agree with that interpretation of the song, I was just offering alternative contexts that others might feel are valid.
Gaaark, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.
You can be mad about people trying to censor things they find offensive, but honestly the conservative "right" have been doing this forever with their version of morality.
Want to protest? Gather a bunch of happy old couples and go dance to that song in a park, at least it will improve your marriage as opposed to spreading the counter outrage.

Just wanted to acknowledge that before pointing out:
This is whataboutism. The charge of hypocrisy equally applies to the conservative right and to third wave capitalist feminism. One goes further right, then the other follows. Then the latter outdoes the former with right-wing reactionary politics, and the former follows. These are merely two different brands of right-wing authoritarianism (see Altemeyer) that differ only in their opinion of which gender should be denied the exercise of political power. Both of them are antidemocratic, and both of them must be challenged.
