Tomorrow morning I'm going to apply for a state-funded In-Home Caregiver.

This because I just now put a pot in the microwave rather than on the stove. I've been doing stuff like that quite a lot lately. Happily I clued in before I actually nuked it.

If my only problem would be burning down my home and those of my two neighbors I wouldn't need actually home care, just meal delivery. But that's part of that same program.

    ...

The maybe terrible news is that my Neulogist's first test, a Methylmalonic Acid Blood Level was inconclusive.

The lead to my contemplating other possible causes, eventually to conclude it might be Temporal Lobe Epilepsy. It would cause some of these same symptoms, in addition to also causing Hypergraphia: a compulsion to write _incessantly_.

    Know any passionate writers?

That would be terrible news because while my brain seizures are already controlled by Trileptal (oxcarbazepine), I don't think there are any treatments for my other symptoms were they caused by TLE.

Broca's - or Expressive - Aphasia is so-called because its origin in the brain in the Broca's Area, in me immediately in front of my left Temporal Lobe, in artists and most musicians, immediately in from of their right one, after a Neurologist by then name of Pierre Paul Broca who studied two Expressive Aphasia patients who'd both had injuries to their Broca's Areas.

There's some possibility that while I'll always be compelled to write, they time may very well come - and soon - when I lose the ability to make sense when I do so.

Two weeks ago today I initiated the application process for Social Security Disability Insurance. My benefit would be the average of my previous ten years income from the onset of my disability. I'm not yet clear when that was but I expect I could _prove_ - from medical records - that my disability's onset was May 2010, as that's when I had my first brain seizure. I've had some severe long-term memory loss since early 2012.

First thing tomorrow morning I will commence my application for a stat-funded in-home caregiver, as just now I put two hot dogs in a soup pot then put the pot in my microwave oven.

Happily I caught myself before shocking myself or burning my own home down, but I've been doing that kind of thing quite a lot lately. I no longer feel safe cooking my own food.

I may not require an actual caregiver, but that same state program also provides hot meal delivery to its clients' homes.

    Sorrowfully,

    Michael

Don't worry. We all do things like that from time to time when we're tired. No that long ago I went to put the iron in the fridge after I'd ironed my shirts.
