Journal by aristarchus

Yet another aristarchus submission has met it's appointed fate. Nothing surprising, but, there was a non-blank rationale field, highly unusual!

We're sorry, your submission "This online comic shows how pick-up artists morphed into the alt-right" was declined for the following reason:
All hail the Supreme Gentleman! -takyon

The editors felt it inappropriate for them to correct the issue themselves. Please feel free to correct the issue yourself and resubmit.

Of course, I think the entire point was that these are no Gentleman, and the Red Pillars need to get themselves over to The Art of Manliness website. And apparenty, this includes one of our more prolific editors? Cause for pause, Soylentils! What are we part of, here!

But then buzzy boy wouldn't be special and get to know which AC is which. Dictators don't share power.

It's more that it's too easy to build a rainbow table of all IPv4 addresses and nearly instantly know where every AC is coming from. We don't want that being public information for corporations and government entities to exploit at will.

I do have some ideas in mind though. Per-story hashes with AC IPIDs as keys that displays an index number instead of the IPID should maintain anonymity quite effectively while making it easy to tell one from another and fast to render. I want to roll it around in my head a bit more and talk it over with other staff before I start coding on something like that though.

that why the hash of the reverse lookup should be used and salt that with the story title and your all set

as I. said an. idea is worthless without implementation so if you want to share power (even if I personally think that you don't use it) feel free to take credit, also hash the ip that don't return a dns record with a secret salt.

Original AC here, and I just want to say that this is a bad . . . wait, . . . I am the second AC, . . . or was it the third? Oh, crap, I've lost my identity! I hope my fellow ACs can put me straight!
