I dunno about him but I dislike the hell out of it because it's the modern equivalent of aether. If you can't prove something even exists, stop assuming it's fucking true just because it would explain something you do see. By all means, research it, but don't act like people with other more mathematically reliable theories are fucking crackpots until you can prove your shit is the one true shit. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you're relying on "consensus" as any part of a scientific argument, you're not being a fucking scientist.
The idea of aether was sound. Waves need a substance to propagate through and light acts as a wave. Note that as soon as measuring devices got accurate enough to measure the speed of light with enough accuracy and after a spell of remeasuring to be sure, aether was thrown out as some of its basic predictions failed. So far dark matter has a better record with the theories predictions. We'll find more evidence or we'll replace it
No, dark matter does not have a better record as far as predictions go. It fails every single time and the "scientists" are just like "oh, well there must be more/less in that area than we thought" and change the numbers until the math works. It may eventually turn out to be true but Invisible Magical Fairy Dust is the least scientifically sound explanation so far put forth.
There's a few predictions, with macro and micro-lensing showing good results though other explanations are possible, abstract, [url:https://www3.amherst.edu/~rloldershaw/TWIN.HTM] as well as the well known bullet cluster. There is also the temperature topology of the cosmic background radiation, the distribution of matter on the really large scale and a few others. None are firm but are evidence.
Well the first thing that occurs to me is that there may well be various types of dark matter, including the classics such as brown dwarfs and smaller objects made from ordinary matter. It seems even the outer reaches of our solar system has quite a bit of matter. To be honest, I'm not qualified enough to really have more then an opinion and perhaps new theories will better explain things or not.

It is all coming together, we can see the endgame now. Cancer, Alzheimers, depression, etc are all many diseases and dark matter is many types of matter. This is what you get from research that looks for differences rather than universalities.

But read the article/blog: how can dark matter, which is 'naturally' clumpy also be spread out enough to keep wide binaries from flying apart.
There's just too many things AGAINST dark matter for it to be successful.

Dark matter was invented solely to save general relativity. It is a kludge made up to keep GR from failing.
There is no formula for dark matter: you have to guess at how much dark matter EACH and EVERY galaxy needs to keep it from flying apart.
At least with QI there is real science and scientific method, not guessing and hand waving and "don't look behind the curtain".
QI looks behind the curtain and sees the fraud that dark matter is, standing there in its soiled underwear.
QI may NOT be the answer, but it IS a better answer than Dark Matter.
