I think the shine has worn off a bit since then, but there are more debates and more chances to seize the spotlight.

Second set of debates has Sanders vs. Warren on night 1, and on night 2 Biden is literally sandwiched by the black candidates, Kamala Harris and Cory Booker.
It would be nice to see some of the superfluous candidates exit the clown car so there's more speaking time per candidate. Get out of here, de Blasio.

Harris has the political savvy to win, is willing to make the low blows that take out opponents, and is power hungry. She will do very well as the primary wears on but will have a hard time in the general election. She is more able than any other candidate running for the Dems except for maybe Biden, and as Biden said;
I have been asking a lot of the democrats where I live about who they will vote for. Most people I talk to would be willing to vote for Biden in the general, but everyone else is too far left for them. But such is rural and suburban democrats.

I just refreshed my front page, and skimmed down to the journal entries. The title just sparked a couple of memories.
What we don't know, often shocks us, when we learn about it.
Number one: When I moved with the wife back to her property in Arkansas, I met a near neighbor who was involved with the local youth. Some organization similar to Boy Scouts, with a French sounding name. I thought he was an alright guy - didn't find any reason to like him a lot, or to dislike him. We would chat now and then. Until, that is, the local authorities arrested him for child molestation. My thoughts went several different directions, including, "I'm glad he was caught before my boys were old enough to be influenced by him!" That house has stood empty ever since, no one wants to live in it.
Number two: A coworker, from my perspective, much the same as Number one above. We talked, shared techniques, shared news stories, etc. He was a pretty good guy, from my viewpoint. Then, he was arrested for spouse abuse AND child sexual abuse. Fek. The evidence strongly supported the spousal abuse, the sexual abuse far less so, but there had obviously been some improprieties.
There have been a couple others, over the years. When you have ranked people as "good guys" only to find that they are really pigs and/or predators when they are out of your sight, it's always a shock.

One place we lived in was just down from where my wife grew up: across the road from us was an old guy who'd been jailed for abusing his kids.
He served his time and got out, but our daughter could never understand why we wouldn't let her play with his granddaughter across the road.
A few years after we moved we heard that his granddaughter turned him in to the cops. Poor girl, but GOOD for her!
It's a SAD world some times.
