Surprises galore. No surprise who is in first, but surprised who is in second. It's also a bit surprising, some of the names that are not on that list.

I feel guilty that I'm not on the second list. I need to start doing better. Often times, comments deserve to be modded up, and I just can't be bothered. That's a crappy attitude, really. Sorry, people.

Probably should do a little more research on the actual proposals and Alaskan contract bidding practices before deciding to weight in on the Pebble Mine project. Pebble mine is worth some 15.7 Billion in profit over its life whereas a worst case scenario of losing a portion of the Bristol Bay fishing is worth 280 Million/year. I personally don't support the Pebble project because none of their work proposals so far have adequate environmental protections or shown that they would be worth the possibility of a negative outcome but it isn't worth throwing out the whole project. The most recent proposal I saw was for a series of tailing ponds on the other side of the watershed to keep future pond breaches or leaks from damaging the fishing run, I wasn't convinced but this was the pitch made before research is done into feasibility.

Yeah, I could spend a bit more time moderating too. I usually get distracted commenting instead.
