    The last time I went home for Christmas, my dad told me that the reason the economy is doing poorly is because all them college professors are socialists and they put bad ideas in kids heads and as a result, we are doing capitalism wrong and that's the only reason it's not working right now.

    It's the college professors' fault, you see. That capitalism isn't working right.

    I...what do I even...what?!

    Made even more incredible by the fact that my dad is a computer engineer. He has a college degree! He has been to a college. And he seemed to come out of it no less heinously conservative. Granted, that was 20 years ago, but still.

    Your post is off topic but your father is right. Good stuff comes from people doing good work, not attending implicit bias meetings and throwing money at "outreachy" type sinks.
    Look, you can go to college and find out about all crazy kind of viewpoints inbred in that environment. It should stimulate you to think. But in the real world those don't make you competitive.
