    Can you explain to me where evil came from in the first place? I don't mean so much its chronological starting point as its ontological roots: what is it that allows evil to exist?

    Depends on the type of "evil" you're talking about.

    If you're talking about the "evil" in Man's heart that makes them rob and kill anyone they think they can get away with it, there is no stopping that type of "evil" as long as Man walks the Earth.

    If you're talking about the "evil" as defined in religion, that manifests itself in what is commonly portrayed as the Devil, that is allowed to exist by the delusions of those suffering the effects of religion.
