It's ok. He's expendable. The DNC can settle on Warren to keep interest high. And with a well divided congress she won't be a threat if she were to win.
But, then who's next? Schiff, Schumer, Pelosi, Barr, Giuliani, the whole cabinet? Anybody important?

OK, Joe is the dem's sacrificial goat. They're going to dump him, no matter what. Joe may very well end up convicted of multiple crimes in absentia. (The US isn't going to extradite a former vice president - no one expects that to happen, do they?)
So, now, Joe is a disgraced convict. How does the left justify continuing the attack against Trump? Impeach him, for what? For having said bad things about a criminal? At that point, the dems have to drop any pretense of holding some moral high ground, and admit that they are just a tribe of barbarians defending one of their own savages. And, tribal politics comes to America, by way of Pelosi and company.
On second thought, being convicted won't be a disgrace for Joe. I read something recently in which Hollyweird and others still deify that fuckwit, Roman Polanski. All that supposed shock and horror over Epstein? Maybe Polanski didn't have as many victims as Epstein, but America's left does deify child molesters.

Honestly, I don't think she's a winning pick for the Dems. She's a bigger, shriller scold than Hillary and Al Gore put together in a blender, and more tightly identified with the edge-of-the-coastline, progressive mob than Hillary ever was.
All Trump would have to do to beat her is to break down for everyone how their taxes would look with Warren's wishlist. The middle class would bloc-vote against her on those grounds alone. Right now a family with two kids and an income of $75K is reasonably positioned (depending on local cost of living, yaddyaddayadda), and pays damn near no income taxes. Under a Denmark-like plan that would be a big, fat chunk out of their family income - and very few people will cheerfully pay over ten thousand dollars a year to see Warren over Trump.
But I dunno. Anything's possible, right? Warren/Sanders in 2020? Could happen.

Ask Adam Schiff's and Ted Lieu's buddy Ed Buck, who had a fetish for lethally drugging gay black vagrants with meth. I don't know if you remember but he was in the news for the exact same goddamn thing not too ling ago, but this time, they're not gonna let him out on bail. Runaway is antisocial, not asocial. If he were asocial, he wouldn't be here, and he certainly wouldn't be so easily manipulable by all the far-right propaganda he's swallowed. Runaway describing himself as "asocial, not antisocial" is about as accurate as a serial rapist describing himself as an asexual.

Runaway isn't coherent enough to be a paid shill. He's half-insane with fear (on top of the other half which I suspect was nuts from the beginning) and is a perfect slow-motion example of someone becoming radicalized by right-wing propaganda. If he was actually born in 1956 and served in the Navy, he's about the right age and mindset for this to happen to him. It's been instructive, if more than a bit terrifying, to watch it happen in real time and realize that you have just seen someone commit moral and cognitive suicide, and worse, do it while flipping the bird at all and sundry in a fit of nihilistic, pig-ignorant contrarianism.
