My discomfort in the last few years, first with Russiagate and now with Ukrainegate and impeachment, stems from the belief that the people pushing hardest for Trump’s early removal are more dangerous than Trump. Many Americans don’t see this because they’re not used to waking up in a country where you’re not sure who the president will be by nightfall. They don’t understand that this predicament is worse than having a bad president.

[emph mine]

Here's looking at you, DNC!

When is she going to announce?

Listen, Fustilarexamilla, your fears are misplaced. They are only the fears of a Conservative Asshole! My, Gawd! What if a Progressive Demoncrat became Precedent? Well, we know what would happen. All the executive orders promulgated by corrupt and conflict-of-interest people in the Past Administration will be RESCINDED (and yes, martyb, it is a word, and it does work here.)

The Republican party has hoist itself by its own petard. A petard is a bomb, by which one may be hoist, if one does not obtain sufficient distance prior to detonation. The bomb, in this case, is Newt Gringrinch, who went of prematurely in several of his "future" wives, and used that to impeach Bill Clinton. But now, the Giuliani, the lecherous gay co-habitor, and his Ruskie comrades, and . . . Oh, just Jesus it gets so tiresome to have to explain how the Republican party has become the enemy of the People, and how I will now personally attack, villify, denude, exfoliate, ridicule, punch in the face, and irrigate each and every Republican I come across. Careful where you wear you MAGA hats, you traitors! Be afraid, be very afraid!~

Evidently, my dear and fistulated fustakrakrich, you are not familiar with the cultural reference to Idiocracy [wikipedia.org], of which this is a reference to. You see, in the future, according to the movie, people become progressively stupid, and eventually elect Camacho president, because he won the WWE, World Wrassling Entertainment, championship. Of course, he performance in office is almost, but not quite, as bad a Trump's. Has to do more with electrolytes than bribery, extortion, and squids who go pro.

So now go and find the magical moral equivalency rock to hide behind, you Republican Troll! There is nothing you can to to save the party! They are going down with Trump. The only real question is what will the new, mostly, kind of, conservative party in American politics be named?

"Bull Moose" is kind of outdated, Whigs are right out. That leaves, I guess, the new Social Christian Democrats! Just like in Germany, the heirs to the Nazi regime, only on the down low.

It's the choice between NSDAP and Starship Troopers (Verhoeven's--embarrassed to say I have not read the novel yet). Well, perhaps proletarian revolution some day, but it's not likely to happen today or before WWIII imho (unless...). Yet, if I have to choose between the two, I would rather live in the Starship Troopers world of post-gender, post-race neoliberal fascism than the NSDAP world.

Perhaps our fren cannot see the difference between the two, because it's likely the Nazis won't come for him. Perhaps he's afraid the Starship Troopers fascists might come for him, because he might be white, male, heterosexual, and cisgender, and he does not understand that being middle class regardless of classification is enough to be safe in the Starship Troopers world.

With the Republican Party, personally for me at least, I'm hoping when they come for me to at least drag a few Nazis to hell, and they can take my cold, dead body to a concentration camp.

Well, obviously someone fabricating said evidence of treason merely to get rid of Trump. And right now, accusations of treason are merely trash talk from an AC on the internet. They have no meaning unless we actually find genuine evidence that Trump has committed treason, which let me add has the precondition that he actually committed treason in the first place.

Glancing at the linked stories from that website, is there any evidence to support their assertions? I found it remarkable how little evidence there was to support the assertions made in the two links. The claim that Eric Ciaramella is the "whistleblower" is based on unfounded blog and tweet assertions about what the whistleblower supposedly has done or is.

Similarly, from the other post [soylentnews.org] citing this particular blog, we have bald assertions that Ciaramella may have run a meeting which they might not have attended or the meeting might not even exist. And there's the claim of "secret impeachment proceedings" by the Democrats of the House. What's the basis for that claim?

There's way too many lazy claims without evidence. The final question from that blog bears mentioning:

Is Mr. Eric Ciaramella the now-infamous “whistleblower” (spy/traitor)?

This crosses the line to an attack, particularly disturbing since it's an attack on career bureaucrats who normally would be invisible. Who is painting the target?

Here's my take. We're seeing someone from the Trump leadership using bloggers to take out bureaucrats who aren't Trump supporters. Given how flimsy the evidence has been to this point, I imagine one or more of the bloggers mentioned gets inside dope and then coming up with a secondary excuse for why the laser targeting beam is focused on Ciaramella. This story above about Ciaramella and his purported motives may well be true, but let's remember who has inside knowledge and can most easily direct others to the attack.

Could be, or just conspiracy theorists "connecting the dots", right or wrong. One thng is for sure after reading the transcript though, whoever was visibly shaken must have been involved in the corruption.

My take still is that they're getting help connecting those dots in a way that is convenient to the Trump administration. I've seen propaganda spin like that before. And every time I tried to drill down to facts and evidence, I got links to other bloggers/twitters who just said stuff. That's the sort of murk that tells me that this story is far from mature enough to discuss. We need actual evidence of something. Not just "X tweeted" kind of stuff.

You're not seeing any evidence yet. (aside from the ongoing obstruction right now, no law breaking has been proven.) These "transcripts" are written by dime store novelists. I stated in another post, a real whistleblower will go in with a wire, camera, whatever, not write notes while getting the vapors over the content. Real evidence will implicate all the beautiful people. Neither side wants that. It just can't happen. Prosecution would turn into a confession, self incrimination.

I'll take Trump over the religious fundamentalist any day. Which is what we'll have if Pence doesn't go down with Trump's ship.

Of course, that would mean Pelosi as POTUS, something that would make the GOPers go apeshit apoplectic. That at least would be entertaining. Nope, Trump is in no danger of being thrown out of office.

All what's happening over there is not about particular persons, nor about individual policies, not even about political/criminal/whatever clans interests. The decay of politics landscape in United States is an objective process. It is exactly what had to be expected from a secessionist colony, created by slavers by a vociferous lie of freedom, which originally meant freedom not to pay taxes to their feudal ruler and freedom to keep their own slaves. With economics growth fed by continuous influx of human workforce from overseas for centuries, most of which was just squeezed and destroyed in the working process. A vampire realm. A 4.27% of total world population, but sucking over 30% of planetary resources. Now, it became unsustainable by new military, economic and cultural reality, and no ideology stacking nor religion could fix that. USA has fallen behind culturally, and now it has to pass the very same historical process the Europe, Russia, China and India had to walk through in 20th century. The American Empire is over, but the Americans did not realized it yet.
Freedom of speech is a conflict between false freedom of lies and true freedom of mind.
