Hillary Clinton appears to suggest Russians are 'grooming' Tulsi Gabbard for third-party run [CNN, take it with a block of salt. They let it slide. The DNC is actually conspiring against Tulsi. This is a preemptive *shhh!*]

So, who's grooming Hillary for her big announcement? Oh, never mind, she can tie her own shoes. She needs no help to muck things up.

Fun times. No matter who loses, it's Russia's fault.

Man! They got some real clout over here! They love to start a clown fight on "both" sides.

Whadda country!

I hope Tulsi does go indie. Gives her a fighting chance. With Oprah on the ticket, a really good chance.

And if you people are serious, you will sweep out the house for her, put a bunch of indies in there too, and put some toilet bowl cleaner in the senate

Edit:

OOF! Shot across the bow! I sure wish she wouldn't say there's no independent intentions. Just makes things difficult if she decides enough is enough. I hope she doesn't think she can beat Clinton in a DNC primary. That would be delusional.

Edit2:

I would so love to hear Hillary say that Oprah is a Russian asset. When I Google this Russian gag, almost every mass media outlet is carrying it. Very heavy push on this one. One way or another she needs to be on the ballot to break the monolith. We have a whole year to make it a possibility.

Edit3:

Another subpoena bites the dust. The Energy Department just told the dems to bugg off... Think anything will get done next week?

Gabbard and Yang are Putin puppets. It was obvious to their responses to questions about whether the US should invade foreign countries.

It's such an obvious ploy to choose someone who's polling at 1.2%, claim to support them, then when they inevitably lose you get to scream up and down about how the primary was rigged even though they lost by millions of votes.

Of course she has a low count in the democrat base. That's why she needs to break away. It will drain the democrat/republican Party. That is a good thing for all of us. We're trying to break the circle. You will benefit also and should be more appreciative.

The burden of proof is on the one making the claim. They claimed that Warren, one of the more progressive Democrats, adopted Trump's "platform." Where is the evidence? Are their positions the same on dealing with illegal immigration? Just how much of Trump's platform did Warren supposedly adopt?

She certainly sounded a lot like him at points in the latest debate.

LACEY: Senator Warren, we've proposed -- you've proposed some sweeping plans, free public college, free universal childcare, eliminating most Americans' college debt. And you've said how you're going to pay for those plans. But you have not specified how you're going to pay for the most expensive plan, Medicare for all. Will you raise taxes on the middle class to pay for it, yes or no?

WARREN: So I have made clear what my principles are here, and that is costs will go up for the wealthy and for big corporations, and for hard-working middle-class families, costs will go down. You know, the way I see this is, I have been out all around this country. I've done 140 town halls now, been to 27 states and Puerto Rico. Shoot, I've done 70,000 selfies, which must be the new measure of democracy.

And this gives people a chance to come up and talk to me directly. So I have talked with the family, the mom and dad whose daughter's been diagnosed with cancer. I have talked to the young woman whose mother has just been diagnosed with diabetes. I've talked to the young man who has MS.

And here's the thing about all of them. They all had great health insurance right at the beginning. But then they found out when they really needed it, when the costs went up, that the insurance company pulled the rug out from underneath them and they were left with nothing.

Look, the way I see this, it is hard enough to get a diagnosis that your child has cancer, to think about the changes in your family if your mom has diabetes, or what it means for your life going forward if you've been diagnosed with MS. But what you shouldn't have to worry about is how you're going to pay for your health care after that.

So, compare that to Trump's [politico.com] stance last campaign. It's nearly word for word.

Note, she didn't answer the question that was asked. Never says how she's going to pay for it. Just makes the same promises that worked for Trump last run, the same vague hand-waving in response to basic questions like 'how are you going to pay for it?"

So the questioner tries again to get her to answer that question.

LACEY: Senator Warren, to be clear, Senator Sanders acknowledges he's going to raise taxes on the middle class to pay for Medicare for all. You've endorsed his plan. Should you acknowledge it, too?

WARREN: So the way I see this, it is about what kinds of costs middle-class families are going to face. So let me be clear on this. Costs will go up for the wealthy. They will go up for big corporations. And for middle-class families, they will go down. I will not sign a bill into law that does not lower costs for middle-class families.

Again she won't answer the question, and again there's little if any difference between the position she espouses and what Trump ran on in 2016.

OK, enough about health care, what about jobs? What about trade policy?

WARREN: So the data show that we have had a lot of problems with losing jobs, but the principal reason has been bad trade policy. The principal reason has been a bunch of corporations, giant multinational corporations who've been calling the shots on trade, giant multinational corporations that have no loyalty to America. They have no loyalty to American workers. They have no loyalty to American consumers. They have no loyalty to American communities. They are loyal only to their own bottom line.

I have a plan to fix that, and it's accountable capitalism. It says, you want to have one of the giant corporations in America? Then, by golly, 40 percent of your board of directors should be elected by your employees. That will make a difference when a corporation decides, gee, we could save a nickel by moving a job to Mexico, when there are people on the board in the boardroom saying, no, do you know what that does to our company, do you know what that does to our community, to what it does to our workers?

We also need to make it easier to join a union and give unions more power when they negotiate.

Aside from that last line, the little nod to unions, this could have come straight from a Trump campaign speech back in 2016. Bad trade policy, big corporations that don't care about America, very typical Trump.

And the last line? You think that's something Trump would never say?

Well it's actually not so far from the tact he tried with NABTU shortly after the election.

The fact is you take pride in every part of your work -- every joist, bolt, and rivet. You're not only builders, but you're artisans, very talented people. A lot of people don't understand, you're very talented people -- enriching our cities and landscapes with works of great beauty. And just as you take pride in your work, our nation takes great, great pride in you, believe me. And it's time that we give you the level playing field you deserve. Thank you. Thank you.

Washington and Wall Street have done very, very well for themselves. Now it's your turn. And you're going to be also sharing the wealth. (Applause.) And you know, for many years, we've been taken advantage of by other countries. All over the world they took advantage of us. We had leaders that didn't have a clue or worse. That's not going to happen anymore, folks. That's not going to happen anymore.

Even on war she struck a stance not at all different from how Trump campaigned. Oh, sure, she insisted he messed it all up somehow, but she also said "we need to get out." So she's endorsing his position on outcome, and just vaguely asserting that he's doing it wrong rather than actually criticizing the position itself.

Don't get me wrong, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. If you want to win against Trump, you've got to take back these traditionally democratic positions that got him so much support among traditionally democratic voters.

                            It's still funny to watch.

I suspect the reason it can't be taxed is because the money doesn't really exist [the money the feds gave them, and is still giving, is safely offshore], it's all wagers in the derivatives, and the trickle down is a drought. There just needs to be a balance of power that neither side offers.

Precisely where Obama fell down. He merely carried out the previous administration's agenda, the wars, the austerity, all of it. Both factions have the same goals. One just "uses" the other to be the bad guy to pass draconian law they pretend to oppose that will remain on the books indefinitely. The principle error here is peoples' failure to see they are a team. There is no real opposition. Until we vote for independents who are not mere servants to their "donors" we are stuck in the mud. Reelecting criminals will not change a thing. Regardless of what chance there is of that happening, it is our only hope. Those that say there is no chance are really saying there is no hope.

For the sake of argument, assume that's true.

Then the next logical goal is to expose the DNC.

The more they have to cheat the higher the chance they'll be exposed.

The RNC cheated Dr. Paul and it fatally weakened them. That's the reason they couldn't cheat Trump the next time around.

You're right they were exposed in '68. You're wrong that nothing happened aside from the trial. It changed things, in many ways, not all clearly positive or negative, but it shook things up and it caused some change.

"Whatever they did to Paul didn't weaken them at all."

You couldn't be more wrong here. It weakened them catastrophically. Without that event, they would have simply ignored the primaries and given Ted Cruz the nomination. And HRC would have handily beat him, as intended.

No, that is just the proverbial "kicking the can down the road". There is no hope for betterment by just playing along. This whole "lesser evil" bullshit is exactly what put us in this condition. More precisely, the democrats put us on this direct path with their disasterous efforts in "compromise" a decade ago [wikimedia.org]. That puff of smoke is what doomed us to *Trump* today and all the facsimiles popping up like mushrooms all over the place. Some of us recognized it then. A lot of good it did. They still throw tomatoes at us, as you can see throughout. They are perfectly alike. You gotta break free. So does she if she wants even the smallest chance. The propaganda campaign is in full swing. The base is swallowing the entire lure in a zombie like state. The parties are catatonic.

If you're gonna be crushed, *make it count*

Yes, goodwill and respect from the voters can put you into office. You provide a real visible contrast from the trash on the other side of the tracks. There is a natural appeal to strength that has to be exploited in the very same way that defiance is working so well for the president's campaign.

I changed my mind on Major Gabbard after reading this. High praise from wswsws: A rare moment of truth on the US support for Al Qaeda [wsws.org].

If independent, a Bernie/Tulsi 2020 ticket would make sense maybe from Socialist Alternative USA. (They are Bernie bros, but this deals in President Gabbard since Bernie likely does not have much time left on this planet.) On the other hand, Tulsi/Oprah may have incredible popular appeal. On the gripping hand, similarities between a D team and independent split and German SPD/KPD give me the heebie-jeebies.

Hopefully Senator Hirono's call for the collective guilt and collective punishment of all people without regular menstruation does not reflect the views of all politicians from Hawaii. (Well, Gabbard is from Samoa after all. Birthers including the alt-right and Hillary Clinton with her Russian Anunnaki theory can suck it.)

Is Tulsi promising you the Madonna treatment [rt.com] or something?

The incel thing is getting as stupid as the Russia thing. If it's not apparent by now based on that ABC article about “clowncels,” this is being promoted by the military intelligence apparatus in line with patriarchy and capitalism. Promotion of incels runs counter to progressive--or at least Marxist/anti-capitalist feminism.

Clowncels, the incel upgrade, are a self-fulfilling prophecy. Society made the clowncels to have somebody to punch down on, and they will destroy civilization out of spite.
