Tesla delivers its first 'Made in China' cars:
During a ceremony at the company's multi-billion dollar plant in Shanghai, 15 of its employees received cars they had purchased.
The event means deliveries of cars have started a little over a year after construction of the factory got underway.
[...] The Chinese-made Model 3, priced at $50,000 (£38,000) before subsidies, will compete with local electric car makers, including NIO and Xpeng Motors, as well as global brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
[...] Previously Tesla was exporting all of the cars it sold in China from the US, which meant they were hit with tariffs in China.

Well, if it has China-style AI, it'll have no problem backing over a crowd of people over and over again just to save a few seconds on a parallel-parking job or backing out the wrong end of a parking lot.
Even crows and other life-forms stop to grieve over dead mates, but the Chinese insectoids keep on carrying about their daily business like ants. Hell, even their escalators are designed to eat people alive, and it seems only fitting that even their Teslas should be designed and programmed with Chinese efficiency.

China is changing so fast while I think many of our views of the nation are stuck about 30 years in the past. China is now, by far [wikipedia.org], the world's largest economy. This [teleport.org] is a list of salaries in Shanghai. Mid management is hitting around $100k median income. I mean you realize China is now, in purchasing parity, by far the world's largest economy.
One of the big reasons Xi Jinping has become so popular is because of Sun Zhengcai, Xu Ming, and many many other names (around 100,000 in fact). There are a large number of Chinese who are party members becoming 'mysterious billionaires' and gaining immense power. At least there were. Jinping has cracked down hard on party corruption in China. The two above, for instance, are serving life sentences. Zhengcai was even a member of the politburo, the most powerful political group in the nation consisting of ~10 people. He was openly corrupt but thought to be untouchable, not dissimilar to many of our own politicians. He got touched.
