Feds Indict Steve Bannon for Finessing Racists, and I Don’t Know How to Feel
Michael Harriot broaches the obvious at The Root:

If a white nationalist robs a racist in the woods, can you hear me not giving a fuck?
Should we applaud the fact that the bigoted propagandist who gave us Breitbart, Milo Yiannopoulos and Donald Trump has been indicted for fraud? Or should we be happy that a bunch of xenophobic nitwits had their disposable income stolen? If ever there was a perplexing philosophical quandary, it is this.

Chronic greyscale disease sufferer Steve Bannon, the chief architect in charge of making America great again, has been indicted for defrauding a clusterfuck of Caucasians out of their border wall savings, according to federal prosecutors from the U.S. Justice Department’s Southern District of New York.

Particulars?

According to an indictment unsealed on Wednesday, the SDNY Corruption Unit charged Bannon, along with co-conspirators Brian Kolfage, Andrew Badolato and Timothy Shea, with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering. In a statement, SDNY’s Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss alleges that Bannon created a sham non-profit organization and shell companies that funneled over $1 million in donations from “We Build the Wall”—an online crowdfunding campaign that raised over $25 million to erect a privately funded version of Donald Trump’s border wall.

Those poor people!

You need to keep up. A Canadian Court has ruled that the USA is no longer a safe country for asylum seekers and refugees, so the whole reason for crossing illegally (that people seeking refuge in Canada would be automatically returned to the USA because it was considered a safe haven) no longer applies. So people seeking asylum at regular border crossings are no longer barred.

Black folk first. The vast majority of them were dragged here against their will for at least 200 years. The country kinda sorta owes them citizenship, I think. Especially since the 14th was written for their express benefit.

Native people? Actually, we didn't just allow them to walk in and set up housekeeping. Quite the opposite. We actually fought some genocidal wars against several groups of them. Today, not so much, but they fought long and hard against an oppressive government to earn the rights that they exercise today.

So, I'm not sure what point you're making with those two examples.

The question is, whether a sovereign nation even has the right to establish, and to enforce it's borders. I say that it does have that right.

Respect the laws, enter lawfully, and obey the law while you are here - or don't come at all. It's really that simple.

If you ask me, the Clintons and the Trumps are more alike than, say, the Clintons and the Sanderses or the Clintons and the Ocasio-Corteses. And this is a point I've made many, many times before.

Fistulakrick is a well known Right-wing operative. Used to hang with Corey, before the punching incident. Then was the associate of the First, or Third, Lady, until the drinking just got out of hand. After that, he was a under-secretary to Hope Hicks, which she took too literally, and kept him under her desk, for, um, daily "duties". So you can see how Fustilakrack could end up on SoylentNews. He is not the first, nor the last, broken souls to wash up upon our shores. We have TMB, a Native American without a country, we have Runaway, a fake vet without a rig, we have VLM, whatever he is. And we have poor, fluffy khallow, to whom some really nasty shit must have been done to warp him so viciously bad. But we accept them all, here on the internet's Island of Misfit toys. Keep it up, FistulaKramitin. Someday you may see your way to freedom, and take wing, above the fray. Goodspeed, Fistulacrackinit!

Years ago, I thought that Runaway1956 could be tamed, brought around to rational argument. But now, many years after the establishment of SoylentNews, and Runaway's banishment from the comment boards, well, everywhere, but most notably Fox News, how fucked right wing do you have to be to get banned from the comments at Fox News? Well, Runaway did, so we are the only outlet left to the poor bastard, who was gyped out of $200 by Bannon and his one (legged? Armed?) bandit of "We build the wall". So sad, stuck in Arkansas, with no future Clintons on the horizon. Hope has failed, in Arkansas, as it usually does.
