In other totally-not-a-slide-into-fascism news, peaceful protestors who had a permit to march were teargassed on the way to vote.
They have elections in all those shithole dictatorial countries too. They just make sure the wrong people don't vote.
The participants in Saturday’s “I Am Change” march had intended to conclude at an early-voting site to emphasize turnout in the final days of the presidential campaign. Those plans were thrown into disarray when law-enforcement officers in riot gear and gas masks insisted demonstrators move off the street and clear county property, despite a permit authorizing their presence.

Democracy is dying. America's people have forgotten the nation's principles.
It was doomed from the start. Our species is too inferior to manage its biases and baser instincts for the good of the populace.
The parties have polarized. What used to be civil debate and disagreement has now become a nauseating holy war on both sides.
I suppose much of it is religion and secularism warring against each other. When half the population believes in logically unethical principles that are declared correct by their evil god, it's difficult to save those people.
I have a natural propensity to want to compromise, bridge the divides, not take sides, be on everyone's good side. That's why I only read news from the most unbiased sources I can find, right now BBC and Reuters. But, it's becoming clear to me that, right now, at this moment in time, the Republicans are the morally debased in this war. It might not be logically correct, but my heart views this as a struggle between mercy and callous selfishness.
My fellow liberals, please, don't stoop to their levels. We must be the better of the two. History will judge us for how we behave in the near future.
I genuinely hope I don't live to see the worst of what's to come.
