why would I need to verify anything? OS craps out? fine. reinstall, git clone, a couple of rsyncs, and I'm done.
gitlab is backed up. cluster home directory is backed up. cluster data is backed up to tape, I verify that it works every time the daemon clears up my scratch folder. personal pictures are cloned on a bunch of external drives and the NAS.
but the mission-critical stuff is just text files.
