That's quite the approval cliff Trump walked off trying to overthrow the election.

Thankfully, the brainwashing is not entirely complete and a lot of people are seeing it for what it was.

Yup, just review some clips of the crazy drunk lady jeanine(?), the trust fund kid carlson, desperate tough guy hannity, and nazi saluting ingraham.

The rhetoric they have been throwing around for years is very violent and divisive, demonizing democrats and liberals all the time while downplaying such thing as protests against police brutality. Oh right, also propping up white supremacist groups while occasionally making the weakest statements against racism and brutality.

Conservatives need to put pressure on Fox to remove these cancerous liars, at least if they actually want healing and unity. You can't cry about "moving on" when your preferred news outlet is basically calling for the death of political opponents.

Don't look at Fox news, aside from the phenomenon. Ask what makes them so attractive to the believers. And then ask why there is no real opposition of any consequence, and how they are under the same influence, from the same vector. All this stuff was documented the last time it got serious. We are living a rerun.

That is somewhat disinguous. Fox has been becoming more and more radical over the years, along with talk radio like Rush Limbaugh.

They were all just conservative outlets, and those outlets were responsible for pushing the narrative of fear and hate. This wasn't really a problem with the people, if liberals were to only trust news from a small group of outlets then they too could be slowly radicalized. Fox ramped up rhetoric to make conservatives feel like they were being attacked and thus short-circuited logic so they could emotionally manipulate their viewers. That is a human problem, and the only way to deal with that is to create systems to deal with such blatant propaganda.

The fairness doctrine repeal by Reagan is what opened the door for one sided propaganda to gain a foothold. It was a deliberate and decades long effort by the GOP to radicalize their voters. Fox "news" and other radical rightwing outlets were the phenomenon that drove this current crisis.

You say that like it were a bad thing.

and calls every solution that would help the average American a socialist plot that will destroy the very fabric of society.

I don't recall calling anything a socialist plot. But I'll note here that "every solution that would help the average American" usually fails hard at helping the average anyone it gets applied to, American or not. My suspicion is that if we actually paid attention to whether these schemes, socialist or not, actually worked, we'd just drop most of them and never speak of them again.

Running away from your support of insurrection already? Falling back on the tired "both sides" rhetoric? That worked a lot better when the two parties hadn't diverged to where we are today. Democrats as a group have been better than Republicans since at least the 80s, that is just objective fact when you toss out the rightwing propaganda and trickle down bullshit. It wasn't so clear for quite a few decades as the prosperity was ridden out and when the accessibility of information wasn't so widespread.
