    If the post contributes no value. Down modding should not hide a post unless the post really contributes no value.

    Not because you disagree with it. If you disagree, write a reply. That way you are contributing something.

    I agree, though I would go slightly further and say a post without value is fine, it's the posts that contribute negative value that should be downmodded. Perhaps you are saying something similar "... really contributes no value."

    Here is an example of what I consider a perfectly legitimate Troll mod -- it's not that it is merely valueless, it's strident, insulting, and humorless:
