Seems that The Mighty Buzzard is tired of winning. Filters and mod-bans, IRC kicks, anyone who proves that TMB is a loser in debate sooner or later finds themselves blocked from SoylentNews. And seems it is just this one dev who is asserting these admin powers, and lobbying for more draconian rules.

Boo fucking hoo. I too get kicked from IRC, and just got over a multi-day posting ban. You're not the only "oppressed" person around here. I've been getting kickbanned from IRC since the day I first started showing up.
The only time I complained about it was when the gorepedo poster was running amok and a bunch of sniveling bitchboys (likely including you) were trying to accuse me of doing it. Hell, I might get banned again for saying "Sniveling bitchboy." We'll see.

It's not at all hard to comprehend: Uzzard and his kind never gave a shit about actual free speech beyond paying it lip service. They "care about free speech" the way Gab, Parler, etc do, which is to say, they have a gigantic victim complex and think *their* speech isn't free enough while other peoples' it "too free," and will ant-bugger the rules to suit their purposes.
I've got several strikes against me from the get-go: I'm a straight shooter in a twisted world, I'm a centrist (what the US calls a leftist), I'm an honest-to-Goddess woman, I'm gay, and I give fewer fucks than Deadpool barebacking a rabid honey badger about "respecting authori-tah." There was a Gadfly in Ancient Athens. His name was Socrates. They killed him, and went downhill from there. Reason all of us (Hellenistic Greek scholars) went to Alexandria. And America, until recently, had this reputation for free thought. But now, with all the stupid people complaining about "cancel culture", I fear serious scholarship and free speech will be seeking to go elsewhere. Somewhere they will not be censored for pointing out that stupidity and conspiracy theories are wrong.
