Google to stop treating EU antitrust remedy as a “promotional opportunity”:

Google and the European Union have been fighting for several years over Android's default search engine. Just like when the EU took issue with Microsoft bundling Internet Explorer with Windows, the EU Antitrust enforcers don't want Google using its Android operating system monopoly to prop up Google Search and Google Chrome. The solution the EU came to—just like it did with Windows—is a "ballot" system that pops up during setup and asks users to pick a starting browser and search engine from a list. The only problem? Google was charging companies to appear in this list. It was basically an ad vector. In a blog post this week, Google says it will stop doing that.

It’s really irrelevant, there are no viable search options besides Google. Unless you want Bing, and since I haven’t heard anything about it in years, I’m not sure it’s still around.

Really? I saw "AAAAAAAA-1 Search Engine" at the top of the list, and it looked like a great choice, so why not use that one? I mean, it's not like Google was forced to just let *anyone* appear on the list, right?

Bing and Metager [metager.org] work just fine.

Europe, being run by Jews, only gets cranky about "oppression" only when they're not getting their share of the cut. They're actually worse than even America when it comes to civil liberties. Europe is end-stage Judaism running Goy societies, and if America doesn't start gutting Jews from powerful positions, its fate will be the same. Gentiles will be cutted and gutted in the streets, while Jew-placed authoritarians legalize violence against Gentiles while catching-and-releasing felonious illegals and other criminals.

I've had good results with DuckDuckGo [duckduckgo.com]

While it might not have a lot of results for searches on things like papers relating to alternative theories of gravity using a modified GR framework and quantum dynamics and the like its been great for general stuff I used to use Google for. Though even DDG has been finding the fringey stuff lately, I've only used Google twice in the last year or so.

And DDG at least claims to respect my privacy like they mean it.

      Of course YMMV

Straight-up, I just use DDG now. Sometimes I still catch myself going to google first, but that's 'cause a 20+ year habit is hard to break.

Google should just quit now and let DuckDuckGo take over. Sure, it'll mean a bunch of pink hairs will be out of work, but they can apply for welfare.

Purple-haired Jewish trannies don't have to apply for welfare, they're part of their nepotist network. They can go work for FAGMAN* big tech companies or Blackrock and buy out the house you grew up in at a markup, then they can sell it to rich Jews or Chinese at an additional markup.

      * FAGMAN is a very appropriate acronym for big tech: Facebook, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Netflix.
