Everything MLK said and stood for was the utter and absolute opposite of everything the Woke are today doing to society. This [stanford.edu] chapter from his autobiography discusses Malcolm X. I highly recommend it. Aside from the urgency and immediacy of his call to arms, Malcolm X had much more in common with the modern Woke. King's comments on Malcolm X were typically insightful, and quite pertinent to today.
King was essentially about uniting society and working together, and if you'll afford me some kumbaya, loving one another.
Malcolm X, and the Woke, were (and are) about dividing society, focusing on the flaws of each group - often with hyperbole or disingenuity, and striving for conflict, radicalization, and hate to bring about revolutionary change.
Interestingly I'd also add even toward the end of Malcolm X's life he also began to realize that his "Woke" strategy was ultimately failing. You don't solve hate with hate.

It's curious how this is being spun in the American partisan political system. Republicans are now against it so it must be good or evil depending upon which team you are part of, or it is just some minor academic thing that nobody needs to take an notice of (take no notice of the man behind the curtain!). I've been aware of this scholarship for a long time - and I'm taking about the critical theories in general not just "CRT" - and I am very concerned how this totalitarian Neo-Marxist thinking has bled into the popular and corporate culture. Have you not had HR training that includes intersectionality, a concept taken directly from Critical Race Theory? Privilege? White fragility (if you disagree with us it is because of your white fragility lol)?
Of course it masquerades as being about goodness and niceness, I mean how can you be against improving the lot of people who are not doing so well because of historical, and sometimes contemporary, oppression? However there are tenants of this that are at worst naive and at worst blatant power grabs. For example:
-People can be reduced to their intersection positionality in the way that they experience the world (social skills, traits, intelligence are nothing to do with it - being the products of western science and thinking and therefore should not be applied other than perhaps to the cis white hetro males)
-Liberal democracy is fundamentally oppressive, being set up by evil white men to keep themselves in power, instead of being the framework through which civil rights and political emancipation is being achieved. Have you not heard the term "Dead white men" to disparage the achievements of previous generations?
-Hierarchies in modern societies are constructs based always upon power, never competency.

It's being spread in a typical fashion for propaganda. Instead of actually pushing for an idea on its merits, instead attack everybody who does *not* support it. The idea is to coerce people into supporting it through two rationales:
1) The idiot who simply believes what the propaganda says. 'Oh wow, if only racists and really awful people are against CRT - I better support it. Because I'm not a racist or an awful person.'
2) The smart person of marginal convictions. 'This shit is absurd, but I don't really care one way or the other. Tell them what they want to hear and I'll be left alone. Tell them what I believe and they'll try to destroy my life. Tough call.'

If you're calling it fringe, you must be unaware of the reach of critical race theory. It is being openly advocated by both the political establishment and the vast majority of major corporations. Many educational institutions, from elementary to university, are now indoctrinating children in this worldview. And if you ever take on a governmental or big corporate role, you will likely be required to take "training" that tries to enforce it upon you.
And if you think it's only conservatives worried here, you should look at the trends in elections. Aside from the anomaly of 2020, which is unlikely to be repeated, Obama 2012 > Obama 2016 > Clinton 2020 in terms of votes gained. And was in spite of the voting age population, ostensibly full of Democratic demographics, increasing by tens of millions. There are a *lot* of people like myself. I am a liberal, but I am actually a liberal. Categorizing people by race and other identity politics, censorship, trying to destroy people's lives for having different political opinions, and trying to make everybody hate each other for the sake of some stupid revolution (that will, as always, never end how those pushing for it might dream) is not liberal behavior. CRT (among other anti-liberal agendas) is what not only pushed me away from the now neo-"liberal" side of our politics, but turned me overtly anti-DNC.

No, it's a front for the enslavement of the working classes as conceived by Karl Marx and his cousin Lionel de Rothschild.
To understand Marxism, you must understand it as a Hegellian religion.
Marx hid this fact behind the pseudo-scientific nonsense of "dialectical materialism". In reality, the concept of arriving at the perfect society through the dialectal process when Marxism itself guarantees an imperfect material reality is a recursive loop. So too with Critical Race Theory, it posits that it is "anti-racist" while creating a material reality of racism by claiming that everybody is racist. As non-theistic belief systems go, these are the absolute worst.
Marx exploited everyone and to this day exploits those fools who take his writings against exploitation at face value. Marxism and it's inheritors are nothing other than manifestations of his psychopathy. [newsweek.com]
The horrors of Marxist regimes were not incidental but arguably worse is that socialization based on race was the pet project of a certain Austrian born dictator. CRT in schools is definitely not a "drummed-up bogeyman" [youtube.com] nor is it a partisan issue. Luckily CRT as taught may well violate the constitutional Equal Protection clause and the Civil Rights Act. The institutionalized denigration of black American children as a perpetual victim class is in no way "anti-racist", it is racist and it is evil. Hope for legislative victories!
