Study Shows Immune Cells Against Covid-19 Stay High in Number Six Months After Vaccination:
"Previous research has suggested that humoral immune response — where the immune system circulates virus-neutralizing antibodies — can drop off at six months after vaccination, whereas our study indicates that cellular immunity — where the immune system directly attacks infected cells — remains strong," says study senior author Joel Blankson, M.D., Ph.D., professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. "The persistence of these vaccine-elicited T cells, along with the fact that they're active against the delta variant, has important implications for guiding COVID vaccine development and determining the need for COVID boosters in the future."
To reach these findings, Blankson and his colleagues obtained blood from 15 study participants (10 men and five women) at three times: prior to vaccination, between seven and 14 days after their second Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine dose, and six months after vaccination. The median age of the participants was 41 and none had evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection.
[...] In their study, Blankson and colleagues found that the number of helper T cells recognizing SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins was extremely low prior to vaccination — with a median of 2.7 spot-forming units (SFUs, the level of which is a measure of T cell frequency) per million peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs, identified as any blood cell with a round nucleus, including lymphocytes). Between 7 and 14 days after vaccination, the T cell frequency rose to a median of 237 SFUs per million PBMCs. At six months after vaccination, the level dropped slightly to a median of 122 SFUs per million PBMCs — a T cell frequency still significantly higher than before vaccination.
The researchers also looked six months after vaccination at the ability of CD4+ T cells to recognize spike proteins atop the SARS-CoV-2 delta variant. They discovered the number of T cells recognizing the delta variant spike protein was not significantly different from that of T cells attuned to the original virus strain's protein.

I am not about to click your links and visit Brighteon. Do you actually get your news from anywhere else, or is that the only place you get news from? As I noted previously, Brighteon is a fake news site.
Fauci didn't say that vaccines aren't effective. Not even close.
Antibody levels decrease over time after vaccination, which was always expected. The article indicates that T cell frequency remains high even six months after vaccination, but there is a decline from the levels right after vaccination. The combination of more breakthrough infections due to lower antibody levels and declining T cell frequency might contribute to an uptick in hospitalizations and deaths for people who were vaccinated several months ago. Antibodies produced from vaccinations are also less effective at binding to the spike proteins in some variants like delta and perhaps delta plus.
But Fauci didn't say that vaccines aren't effective. That's a totally dishonest interpretation of his statements. Instead, he's proposing that everyone should be eligible to get booster shots.
People who had COVID-19, recovered, and then were vaccinated several months later have better immune protection than people who received one dose of the J&J vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccinates. Hybrid immunity seems to be better than just getting one dose of the J&J vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.
The current theory is that being exposed to SARS-CoV-2 and being vaccinated several months later boosts production of memory B cells. The antibodies produced by these memory B cells are more effective at binding to the spike protein than what is produced by plasmablasts. The memory B cells also mutate as they multiply, producing a diverse range of antibodies that are more effective at neutralizing SARS-CoV-2 variants. Vaccine boosters several months after the original vaccination might also increase the production of more memory B cells, providing similar benefits to hybrid immunity.

Fauci's support of vaccine boosters for everyone seems logical based on the science. He didn't say that vaccines don't work. He said that receiving a booster makes the vaccines more effective, particularly after immunity from the original dose(s) starts to wane.

The admins can't stop that spam without disabling anonymous comments. Denying TOR connections might help, but that goes against the free speech concept so they may as well just ban AC posts anyway. Also, there are plenty of VPNs out there the spammer could use as well. Maybe if they ban his runaway1956 account he would ragequit. One can dream.

Not quite. SN has a lameness filter, which matches posts against regexes. This has been around since the early days of Slash, mostly to prevent more blatant spam comments. If the post matches the regex, it's blocked by the lameness filter. TMB actually implemented some of these filters to shut down APK spam in the past. They were very effective at shutting down the worst of the spam and had very few false positives. When such false positives did occur, the admins were willing to track down the cause of the issue and modify the filters accordingly. Given APK's proclivity for spamming, including in the past few weeks, putting more of these filters in place would be a sensible measure.
As for shutting down AC comments, that's a last resort and something I hope SN doesn't choose to do. But before Slashdot banned most anonymous posting, they actually had implemented some fairly strict lameness filters to make it harder for APK to spam.

Hohohohoho fat lotta good it did slashdot. They couldn't stop APK either. As far as irregular expressions go? They're crap. Normal string functions do a good enough job and that is what irregular expressions are built from. Irregular expressions are for programming cripples nothing more. Irregular expressions aren't standard on any operating system or programming toolkit (or the compilers that use them). That makes them a bitch. Shell scripts aren't the same Unix to Unix or unix variants either. Standardization is what matters so they do work OS to OS. Besides worst comes to worst? Apk could just do what fakename dalek does and create a username and another one, and yet another one. That's what all you fakenames do anyways. Do you really think you're fooling anyone but yourselves? Please.
