agree and the most sensible answer also is 1930 to the question:

In the mid 1990's I switched to: YYYY-MM-DD

I use that format in file names, and anywhere else that I type in dates. Why? Because I could see Y2K coming. And using this format would cause records and filenames to sort properly across the Y2K transition.

Funny, I never even heard of that book. I saw the wiki, doesn't look like I'll ever get a copy, but maybe his writing style makes up for it. If they really wanna set it right, they'll have to go back to stop Eve from eating the apple, or go all the way to prevent the Big Bang

The problems in the US haven't overly changed for a long time and assassinations were long used to suppress opposition. However, with the JFK assassination we got a pretty clear message from the MIC that messing with their profits and empire building will not be tolerated. Few have stuck their necks out since and I have a suspicion that more progressive politicians have been getting credible threats and are discouraged from more popular social policies by their peers. "Work from within the system" and "we must compromise" excuses that allow real change to be perpetually pushed back as we've seen from the DNC every election cycle.

You don't know who was president back then? And Obama started the Syrian war, and fucked up North Africa from Tunisia to Egypt, not Trump, and in fact, Trump was the first one to initiate negotiations for a real withdrawal from Afghanistan, a neat trick forcing Biden to actually do it. The Great Decline began when the Mars company introduced Blue M&Ms.
