I popped my first anti-nausea pill before the SOTU started. Who remembers the poisonous viper, Pelosi, sitting behind President Trump, making puke faces as the President spoke? Tonight, the viper looks oh-so happy, smiling at the world, as she awaits her fair-haired boy's arrival.
Sleepy Joe spends ten minutes telling us how he has united the US, UK, and Europe. Lies - he promised to unite Europe, but Putin actually united Europe and NATO.
"Created 6.5 million new jobs last year . . . " So, uhhhhh, how does that compare to the job situation before the Wuhan Flu escaped the laboratory?
Close up of Pete Buttplug bobble head figure . . . he's enjoying Biden bragging about 'Build back better'. Poisonous lead pipes? Hmmmm - isn't that a Democrat run city problem? Thinking . . .
"Buy American"? Ohhhhh - kay. I'll be watching. Is Hunter still in China, collecting big bucks for access to the President?
Intel's 'Field of Dreams'? Mmmm-hmmm. Computer chips the size of a fingernail? So Intel is going backward 20 years?
"Time to bury the term 'rust belt' and Joe begins stammering. Let's see how bad that gets.
'Lower your costs, not your wages' - so he's trying to roll back last year's faux pas.
Cut the cost of prescription drugs? I need to double check, but I thought Biden shot down laws allowing Americans to order drugs from overseas? Yeah, drugs that cost $1 overseas, cost $100 or more here. WHY?!?!?!
Now a closeup of the AOC bobblehead.
Joe talking about 'cost of child care'. Didn't Obama make a speech about "We don't want mothers to stay home, we want you working!" Duhhh - why does child care cost so much? It has nothing to do with the fact that women can't afford to stay home.
'Make corporations and wealthy Americans pay their fair share' - and every socialist smiles, stands up and applauds - nevermind the fact that most of them are fabulously wealthy compared to the average middle class American. Even Pelosi smiled - and she is as guilty as any congress critter in Washington.
'The watchdogs are back', but who is watching Hunter Biden?
Biden cares about farmers and ranchers - oh yeah, I remember last year. He offered subsidies to hunters and ranchers who are black but none to white. No, he doesn't care about farmers and ranchers, he cares about identity politics.
CDC issued new mask guidelines, all because Biden personally got the virus under control . . . using the vaccines developed under Trump's administration. "I've ordered more pills than anyone in the world". Biden personally developed those pills, I'm swooning with admiration! /sarcasm
"It's time to get back to business"? Thinking - haven't Republicans been saying that for well over a year? Biden finally gets onboard with Republicans? Take those masks off, and get back in class!!
"Can't build a wall high enough" to keep a virus out - and he kinda stumbled again. Train of thought broke, but he recovered well enough. Where is his teleprompter hidden?
Oh - oh - big city violence - he's building up to it - he knows what works - body cams - still waiting for it - breaking the circle of violence - fund the police - still waiting - GUN TRAFFIKING - GHOST GUNS - GUN VIOLENCE - YADA YADA YADA - ASSAULT WEAPONS HOLDING 100 ROUNDS - GUN MANUFACTURERS CAN'T BE SUED - HOW DOES A KNOWN TERRORIST GET A GUN
Bring it on Joe, keep repeating all the lies. Don't let up now - oh, you've run out of lies? Damn, maybe it's time for a nap, you forgot UNIVERSAL BACKGROUND CHECK!!!
Katanji Brown Jackson - I won't comment on her, I haven't bothered to check her background. I do resent the fact that he nominated her just because she is a black female. That is his selling point, not her past decisions.
Secure the border? What happened to 'Surge the Border', Joe? You great hypocritical shit!
Roe v Wade? The US constitution doesn't enumerate the right to kill an inconvenient human life. If it does, then we can't condemn Putin, can we?
Beat the opioid epidemic? Better secure the god-damned border, Joe!! BUILD THAT WALL!
Take on mental health? Well, Democrats generally do drive Americans crazy - defund the police, right? Ooops, now you suddenly want to fund the police.
Privacy protections? Children? What about all the rest of us? Outlaw targeted advertising, period - not just for children.
Support our veterans? Just fuck off. Your Democrats are attacking all kinds of veterans. You hate white, male, heterosexual, Christian soldiers, sailors, and veterans. Ohhhhhhh - Major Joe Biden. You don't know if his service contributed to his brain cancer, but you want to suck up the sympathy . . . but we don't politicize our veterans, do we Joe?
Cancer. MRNA vaccines might do it. But, then you'll have to say goodbye to the DNC . . .
Closeup of Debbie Wasserman Schultz bobblehead, the corrupt head of the DNC that cut Bernie off at the knees - twice.
My fellow Americans, tonight, let me express my contempt for Joe and his whole DNC. Save democracy? Yeah, right.

Nope. I have, several times, pointed out the hypocrisy of various Ukraine and EU, US, and UK positions and decisions. I have pointed out that, collectively, the West has ignored all of Russia's demands over the years. I have pointed out that the West has collectively worked to push Russia into a corner. I have often pointed out that the Democrat party in the US has been using Russia as the boogeyman to frighten everyone into compliance for years.
I have NOT "condoned" this recent invasion of Ukraine, nor have I "condoned" the way in which Russia is waging war.
I pointed out that partisan politics CREATED the issue. That particular problem has manifested in Democrat controlled territory. That is one of the consequences of incompetent leaders appointing incompetent political hacks into positions of responsibility. (we saw much the same thing when Katrina hammered the Democrat run city and state of New Orleans, and Louisiana) The lead problem was created when someone decided to change the PH of the water, without understanding WHY the water plants were run in the manner they were run.
Let's make a deal here. I don't really think Trump deserves a lot of credit for Warp Speed - credit goes to the people who did the real work. Neither does Biden deserve credit for distribution. That was taking place when Biden was sworn in, and would have continued even if Mickey Mouse were elected.
Yes, that pretty much sums things up. It's nice that you found something honest to say about Trump, unlike all of the Democrat party. That doesn't mean that I should say something nice about an abominable excuse for a leader.
Oh, nothing about the poisonous viper comments? I'm disappointed.

The USSR put nukes in Cuba in protest of US nukes in Turkey. The stupid part was that the US was already in process of removing those missiles as obsolete, but got stubborn about it to save face. After I already corrected [soylentnews.org] your above misunderstanding of the Cuban missile crisis?) and it certainly isn't getting resolved peacefully like the Cuban missile crisis was. There's no threat to Russia from the Ukraine. There is a threat to Putin himself from having a democracy on his border, even one almost as corrupt as Russia is.
Fuck that. There was no provocation that can justify invading the Ukraine. I hope some day you figure out what evil is. It's not being impure driven snow. Here, the evil is that Putin is killing thousands or more because he's weak - not because he was provoked.

You have consistently downplayed Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Not that long ago, you said that Putin wasn't interested in attacking Kyiv, and that this was a relatively small military operation. You've been portraying Putin's grievances as legitimate, even though his pretext for the war is a combination of exaggerating various issues (e.g., effectively making Ukrainian the official language) and conspiracy theories (e.g., the US helping Ukraine to get nuclear weapons). That looks to me like you're condoning Putin's actions.
As for using Russia as a boogeyman to frighten everyone into compliance, that sounds a lot like many Republicans decrying a myriad of Democratic policy initiatives as socialism. Some of what Democrats said about Russia was exaggerated, such as the allegations of collusion with the Trump campaign. Some of it is very legitimate, particularly the risk of cyber attacks against US infrastructure and using propaganda to create discord in the US. Remember, Mitt Romney said that Russia is the United States' biggest geopolitical foe, and Obama mocked him for it. Romney was right. As for Republicans using socialism as a boogeyman, it's often a way to dismiss a policy initiative they don't like without offering a real rebuttal. Most of what they're criticizing isn't socialism at all, not even close. Republicans have their own boogeyman they use to promote compliance. Some of Democrats' comments on Russia are exaggerated to the point of being unhelpful, but some are correct. Republicans using socialism as a boogeyman is pretty much completely wrong.
You didn't say that partisan politics caused issues with lead in people's water. You said it's an issue in cities run by Democrats.
When Trump took office, he dismantled a lot of programs without understanding their purpose or why things worked the way they did. Many of the people he appointed later in his term were appointed because of perceived loyalty, not because of competence. Republican governors like Ron DeSantis have been criticized for putting partisan politics ahead of doing what's right for people with respect to public health. Yes, it's a huge problem when political cronyism is more important than competence. Pretending like that's an issue specific to Democrats is not helpful.
You're being consistent here. Fair enough.
Biden is the de facto leader of the Democratic party. Just as I credited Trump for Operation Warp Speed, Biden did as well. I think you'll find that many Democrats support Trump's criminal justice reform and approve of it, though they wish Trump had gone farther. Even bad presidents get some things right. That said, Trump lost the election because the American people strongly disapproved of his response to the pandemic. If historians only considered Trump's presidency up to the 2020 election, he'd still be considered a bad president. His efforts to overturn the election will be viewed extremely unfavorably by historians. Trump will be ranked alongside presidents like like Herbert Hoover, Warren Harding, Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, Millard Fillmore, and James Buchanan, if not right at the bottom of the list. Trump's legacy will probably be determined on how severe and lasting the effects are of eroding democratic norms in the US.
Biden's presidency has been uninspired and at times has been inept. From a historical standpoint, comparing Biden to Trump is like comparing Gerald Ford to James Buchanan, respectively. The economy was bad under Ford and inflation soared. He didn't exactly do a good job handling the withdrawal from Vietnam. He controversially pardoned Richard Nixon. If you have nothing good to say about Biden, that suggests partisanship might be skewing your perception.
