People spend too much time moderating out of anger. The art of moderation for comedy I dead, and its a damn shame
Dropping a +1 funny on a post that was written extremely well and you could tell the author believed fully is comfy. Even better when the author gets buttmad over the moderation. This has been used to great success against aristarchus, Runaway, and many other such cases.

I'd probably get miffed if my bans stuck... and if this place were my home, like it is for a few of you. Some people see this as their literary career! Look at it, 20-points down in one day, and 90% of my posting was frivolous or downright funny.
I do go ages without bothering with this dump. Which of course it is. But it's so badly run, and I was surprised to see one very low-numbered leader is just plain lost. But the point is, I was playing with you — cat v mouse — since there are a few dynamic IP addresses in the pool. I can take a solid -20 in one day, just for fun.
And last weekend was fun. And good exercise. Look at how easy it is to stir the pot! It's not a very big pot. And Monday must've been hell for a few itchy trigger fingers.
And the lesson is... well, I guess it's lost to eternity or posterity or something.

Post in haste, regret in... the moment after you clicked the [Submit] button. Yeah, [Submit] to baser instincts. I did a knee-jerk reaction to an eye-rolling post, and I'm sorry. Even to the roll-ee. That it was an old Simpsons quote [soylentnews.org] doesn't help. Some people should mind my own business.
