"Russia has always won any war if this war became a people's war. It has always been so. We will definitely win this war: both the "hot" and the economic, and the very psychological, information war that is being waged against us. But for this it is necessary that it be a people's war, so that everyone feels their involvement ... so that everyone has the opportunity to contribute to our common victory."
(Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the presidential administration of Russia, as quoted by Kommersant)
It looks like the mobilisation of the Russian populace is going according to plan, just like everything else in the 'special military operation'. As long as you have exemption letters that you're working a critical important job, or are supporting three (or more) kids, or you don't have the Russian nationality, you're pretty safe.
Still, the mayor of Moscow found it necessary to declare all quota had been reached and this-was-it for the mobilisation, you can neglect your mobilisation orders, after "men were massively handed summonses at the entry to metro stations. In turn, in St. Petersburg, eyewitnesses reported mass roundups with summonses for reservists in large residential complexes." (lenta.ru, Oct 14, "Partial mobilization has been completed in Moscow").
The family tried to bring him home after the conscription. Did he try or obediently went to the slaughter himself?
(Surviving comment on a lenta.ru report about a retired father of three, Dmitry Garashchenko from Proletarsk, Rostov region, who nearly survived a month after being drafted. Nearly all comments -- quite a lot of them pretty graphical -- on lenta.ru which have to do with the draft, or the 'special operation', have been removed due to "not being relevant anymore".)
To ensure the enthusiasm stays high, Putin declared martial law on October 19. Rumor has it that there will be a second round of mobilisation, starting on November 2. It has been denied officially, so it is highly likely to be true.

Yeah, the similarities are uncanny. The magic works no matter where you are
