The only "social" apps/programs I have installed are one for checking Reddit messages I rarely use, and Discord.

Website-wise, I occasionally check a couple of Facebook pages (lost pets in my city & a cat I donated money to save after he was hit by a car), and every few days I glance my Twitter account out of boredom to see if any of the few people I follow has posted anything interesting. I also check Reddit a few times each week (with decreasing frequency).

I looked into Mastodon, but after discovering that the only servers that don't ban statements like "I don't think biological males should be allowed to compete in women's sports" are completely isolated from other servers, I decided to not bother.

The main "social" place I'm active is a blog-based community (one blog post per month with threaded Disqus comments) that is pleasantly reminiscent of a newsgroup I used to hang out on back in Usenet's heyday.

Apps? Hell, no! I have a browser, why do I need a social media app, or a news app, or a weather app? Few apps have any true functionality for those who download them. The true utility is to those who produce those apps.
